the shield
Joe has grown to have a strong love but also annoyance relationship with the Shield.
He’s always going to love the Shield and what that opportunity did for him and his career. He loved traveling the roads with two people who were not only great wrestlers that he could learn from, but two people who became two of his best friends. Joe has so many memories from those days that he could probably write a book about them and then follow it up with a sequel. All those nights where they’d hit up a bar and then wake up with a hangover that required a trip to someplace like iHop or Denny’s He doesn’t think he could’ve asked for a better debut and he wouldn’t trade that debut for anything because deep down, Joe knows he wouldn’t be where he’s at if he had debuted any other way.
But that’s in the past. And there are some people who are obsessed with the past and they don’t want to let it go. Joe isn’t that kind of person. Joe doesn’t want to hang onto the past. They (Reigns, Rollins, and Mox) are more than the stable they were once part of.
He will always cherish the memories but he doesn’t want people to remember him as “The Shield’s Roman Reigns” but rather “Roman Reigns who is an incredibly talented athlete and future Hall of Famer who just so happened to be apart of the Shield at one point too”
