I was on the west coast for the past couple weeks, and finally got to reconnect with my music brother @esbe88 in LA for the first time in years. Since 2014, to be exact, back when I flew out to SoCal for an amazing show we were a part of with @thecyne & @bopalloy (@substantialmusic & @marcusd_). It’s been a while, and though we’ve grown older, it’s almost like a day hasn’t changed from when I used to live in LA and Esbe was my closest friend out there. We came up together releasing with Dusted Wax Kingdom, collaborating and playing shows together a number of times, and now we are labelmates with @coldbusted. The other night, we were finally able to chop it up and personally give each other a fresh of copy of one of our albums. Finally got to meet hip-hop legend Edo G. last night at the @mideastclub in Boston. He’s one of Boston’s finest, born and raised in Roxbury (or as he famously wrote, “The Berry, but not the fruit, y’all!”). I perform his 1991 classic tune “I Got To Have It” regularly during my live MPC beatmaking sets. Last night, he put on an amazing show with a live band featuring my friend @tony2.0bender who I consider one of the best drummers I’ve seen play. Awesome night, and looking forward to working with this legend.
