some lady Cecily hc’s because I’m soft for my fav lady
Cecily is very fashion focused and because of this she pioneers many trends in the Heartlands. One of her most noteable influence is the creation of the jumpsuit (which she fashioned herself when she converted her old dresses to have pant legs so she could look cute for her horseback riding dates lessons with Joan)
She has long, kinky hair that she grew out after season 1. Back before the events of the Hollow she wore her hair to match many of the Eurocentric beauty standards, but afterwards she began wearing it naturally due to the confidence Joan gave her to embrace what makes her herself.
Cecily cannot sword fight to save her life but she is scarily accurate with projectiles. She started taking up knife-throwing to impress Joan but now she leads classes in order to teach young girls self-defense
Cecily can’t dance, but that doesn’t stop her.
Cecily’s genuine laugh is unique and contagious. In fact, a lot of Cecily’s emotions are contagious. This makes her an excellent public speaker.
Cecily has a bad relationship with her parents. Something about “running off with the lady knight after ‘giving up’ an opportunity to marry the Western prince” doesn’t sit right with them, especially since her latest obsession with self-expression and self-autonomy contradicts their passive nobility lifestyle they envisioned for her. They come around later in life, post-series, after witnessing her many accomplishments and receiving an invitation to her wedding with Joan. (Think Toph’s relationship with her father in the comics but make it a little more wholesome).
Cecily is best friends with Rupert. Initially they bond over being hopeless romantics and inexperienced swordspeople, but eventually these commonalities extend further. They’re often seen reading together and working in the castle gardens.
Cecily also finds her Rupert-obsessed phase very, very, embarrassing.
Rupert finds it very, very, hilarious (in the same way friends poke good natured fun at each other).
Cecily organized the flowers at Rupert and Amir’s wedding after Amir accidentally ordered some arrangements with conflicting meanings
“I mean really Amir? A purple hycanith at a wedding?”
Cecily is the best at making tea but the worst at making cookies. Thankfully, Joan is a wonderful baker. No one passes up an afternoon snack at their cottage.
