My dad auditioned yesterday for a local production of Jesus Christ Super Star, specifically for Pilate, a role I've been hearing him sing his whole heart out to since I was a small child. Dad has been giddy about the prospect of playing Pilate *finally* for months, been wanting to for years, waiting for a role to show up.
He texted me yesterday that he auditioned!!
He texted me last night that he didn't get the role.
He texted me tonight that the director called and first pick for Pilate dropped the role and it went to my dad!!!
AAAHHHHH 🎉🎉🎉🎉 DAD DID IT DAD'S PILATE AHHHH 😭💙
He's an excellent singer and he knows the music like the back of his hand and probably has since before I was born and I'm in my 30s. I'm gonna road trip down to Texas for this.
