❛ — aw shucks ,  what the hell am i gonna do  now  that  you're  so  tall ? ❜  the  complaint  comes  as  a  greeting ,  because  how  else  would  he  go  about  this ?  there's  no  right  way  to  reach  out  to  her ,  to  approach  the  one  person  he  knew  he  had  to  come  home  to  eventually .  he'd  promised  as  much  and  yet ,  despite  the  humorous  mask ,  it  only  takes  a  moment  for  liam  to  regret .  not  the  fact  that  he  was  in  the  pittsburgh  qz  at  last ,  but  the  fact  that  it'd  taken  so  long .  much  longer  than  it  should've  have .  i'm  home  now ,  and  i'm  sorry .  ❛ next  thing  i  know ,  you'll  be  roaming  around  with  gray  hair  and  a  little  walker ,  cussing  out  a  bunch  kids . ❜  slowly ,  tentatively ,  he  removes  himself  from  against  a  nearby  building  and  takes  a  mere  couple  of  steps  towards  his  sister ,  both  hands  shoved  into  the  pockets  of  his  pants .  he  tries  to  keep  it  in ,  be  the  strong  one  ( as  he  should  be ) ,  but  it's  only  a  matter  of  seconds  before  a  tearful  crack  shows  in  the  man's  voice .  ❛  hey  little  bird . ❜

         ❛ hey jojo ...  can i ask you something ? ❜  head  tilts  to  the  side ,  body  leaning  against  the  door  frame  in  a  relaxed  manner .  while  love  was  never  sure  if  it  was  okay  to  actually  call  josephine  a  friend ,  she  couldn't  deny  feeling  more  comfortable  around  her  roommate  than  she  did  around  most  people .  never  had  jo  made  her  feel  judged ,  or  perhaps  even  out  of  place .  still ,  despite  having  such  a  foundation  of  trust  between  the  two ,  the  nurse  didn't  want  to  become  a  burden .  so ,  she  raises  her  hand ,  bringing  a  pen  into  vision .  ❛ this  pen  magically  popped  up  by  my  bed  this  morning ...  you  wouldn't  happen  to  have  anything  to  do  with  that ,  would  you ? ❜  she  questions ,  her  tone  still  gentle  despite  the  inquisitiveness  of  it .  ❛ look ,  i  know  i  mentioned  running  out  of  ink  but ...  but  you  didn't  have  to  do  this .  you're  busy  as  is .  i  could've  found  another  way  to  write  or  gotten  another  pen  from  the  lodge  myself . ❜
