JAY: @noatherics / ride. our muses go horse motorcycle :) riding together, either separately or together, and enjoy the sights
listening to the great steel beast's roaring betwixt their legs relaxes him. it's endless rumbling only adding to growing feelings of exultation. motorcycles always intrigued him. the smell of gasoline taints his nose, and the faint stench of rubber as tires bake from friction. cars zip by like fish suspended in a vast sea with various colors, each a streak color that becomes smaller and smaller as they hurry along. rays of terracotta peek past buildings, standing out starkly among the shadows. a beautiful smear of color to signify the coming evening. streetlights flick to life, lively and twinkling like stars eager to take over the night.
it's a wonder it took him this long to ride a bike. given his propensity for adrenaline and long-known craving for experiencing all things — it's strange [...] another pleasure he had been going without, frustrating as that's to admit. he sits behind jason, arms firmly hooked around the other's waist and close as close can be. the wind licks at his cheeks — having forgone a helmet — bringing a chill against his skin. his cheek rests between the other's shoulder blades, claiming the vast expanse of his back and feeling the faint warmth seeping past their jacket.
between the din of the bike and the world around him, it doesn't distract him from another sound. the sweetness in jay's breath or the faint thumping of his heart as he guides them with, sometimes, gentle mastery. more than once, they've sailed past a yellow light to the sounds of honking horns. the dog-eat-dog world of the streets / jason's domain —— his kingdom. kai loses himself in the scent of leather and the dizzying sweetness of fuel. a wave of ease comes over him as if he is tumbling into a trance and deadens his limbs.
he holds on tighter; his grip, once halfhearted, becomes far more rigid as bodies shift closer. space between only given a second of warning before losing its ground in a battle it never won. his gaze watches the shadows stretch encroaching 'pon the light [...] it reminds him of jay. dancing in the shadow, warming himself with the faintest light, he sees him [...] dancing between the rooftops, clad in black and red. a man cursed / blessed with the burden of duality — it speaks to him, a tune he dances to as well. it's why they get along, in his perspective. he is the storm cloud swallowing the sun, and jay dances in his shadow [...] compatible.
