Right I’m a little late to the party but hear me out:

Jayce and Viktor are fucking around with Hexcore shit between Arcs 1 and 2. You know — bros being bros —

Until something goes wrong with the magic and a body swap happens.

Sort of.

Call it a pain swap, or a feeling swap, but the men now feel each other’s pain. They’re still in their bodies… so it’s not a body swap… but they’re connected to each other’s sense of touch.

I don’t know much about chronic pain, but from what I’ve read/heard from disabled authors, it’s something that a disabled person can get accustomed to. So, here we have Viktor, who is feeling, for the first time in a long time, his body without major pain. And it’s bizarre.

But then we have Jayce, who quickly learns exactly what his best friend has been feeling for years. And Viktor doesn’t seem like the type to talk about his daily pain, so maybe Jayce has no idea this is what it was like. He knew Viktor was in pain sometimes, sure, but not like this.

Cue the resulting feels, conversations, attempts to reverse Hexcore’s magic, and maybe a bit of angst. I’m dying for a scene where one of them gets hurt, but doesn’t feel the pain. The other feels inexplicable pain and knows, immediately, that something’s wrong.
