“FREEDOM”

While widely known for his colorful sci-fi themed murals, Jay Kaes has an impressive range of styles and defies being defined too narrowly. Open Minded reports that “he tries to repeat himself as little as possible in his works.” Originally from Spain Jay Kaes now lives in London and has produced an impressive body of work in the East London street art mecca of Shoreditch. London Calling Blog says his striking portraits “represent a fusion of character, color and geometry, with the subject merging into and from the background, the shapes passing through the scene and character.” Kaes was in Los Angeles in late 2016 and painted this work for the Gabba Gallery Alley Project behind the laundromat at Beverly Blvd and Vedome St. @jaycaes @gabbagallery
