Photographic (mostly) memories of William Lipkind (1904-1974)
This blog was created to gather and share information on anthropologist and writer William Lipkind (1904-1974), who did fieldwork among the Karajá, Javaé, Tapirapé, and Kaiapó (Araguaia River, Central Brazil) in the late 1930s. Created around the 50th anniversary of his passing, the blog is both an homage and a "finding aid" of sorts, trying to connect disparate aspects of his life documented in several online resources. Results of the brief research based on the sources here listed are detailed in the article "William Lipkind portrayed," in Fichário, a blog on digital archives and libraries maintained by the Curt Nimuendajú Digital Library.
