@imthepaterfamilias bought me a celebratory beer for finishing NaNoWriMo and this is what he chose. I decided to believe he subconsciously knew it was a Veronica Mars reference. He is letting me believe it too.
During a rewatch I was reminded of how much this bothered me. I know suspension of disbelief means I should let many things go when it comes to TV & Movies.
However, as someone who worked jobs from 16 up until the day I go a full-fledged grown up job, NO boss is happy when your boyfriend/girlfriend, friends, or even family shows up (rare exceptions). They are seen as a distraction. Veronica’s manager actually excitedly announcing, “Your boyfriend’s here!” all sing-song - NO. That doesn’t happen.

what she means: isn't it weird that Veronica was a hostess at a coffee shop? what kind of coffee shop has a hostess? and it was never even that busy??? sometimes she was a barista but we never saw her do that much work. usually she just took long breaks to canoodle with her boyfriend or to destroy a parent's group. how did she not get fired from that job? has Veronica ever been fired? she probably keeps a healthy stack of blackmail for just that purpose. she's probably been in charge of every job termination ever
A young boy watching Return of The Jedi hits puberty when they see slave Leia. When I saw slave Leia as a young girl, I also grew up in a way, but it was with the new fear that could happen to me. Doesn’t matter how strong I am, slimy Java the Hut, will make me his pet.
