Show ya what's really crazy // Layla (feat. Jasmine Mikaels)
First, it began as a battle for power, a way to make a name for herself. Out of big sister's shadow. Yet, the longer she spent with Jasmine and her unwavering belief in this brazen act of feminine strength, the more she believed in it too. If Hunter won, the man won, what did that say for the women's voice? Sure, Brynn was his right (or was it left?) hand, but that was still under the "safe" boot of male superiority. Losing Jasmine's throne was not an option for Layla.
"He's winning," she muttered suddenly to her companion, with a concerned glance. It was a stirring in her soul, something was up and the tides were set to overthrow, and she was immediately uneasy. Her hand found her friend's, intertwining their fingers. This town wasn't ready for peace, let alone a woman in a position of power. Hailey always had a way with people, a spark in her spirit drawing them in and making them feel something. Layla didn't have that, and Jasmine had to learn it. No, she had to earn it. "I have a plan. We'll need Madelyn Strickler and possibly Seth Mann." If nothing else, their voices would be heard. One small step for empowerment, even if they lost in the end, Hunter would take notice of how close a race it was.
