SPN AU Bingo Round Two Masterlist.
“270, Orange Street, please.”
“You got it.” He hit the occupied button as you shut the door and settled into the back seat. Once you were good, he started his meter and pulled away from the large office building.
You were focused on the screen of your phone, honestly just playing a game to avoid the awkwardness of silent car rides with strangers. You hadn’t even looked up at the man once you got into his back seat, but you could occasionally feel his eyes on you when he glanced it in rear view mirror. One such moment, you sighed and shifted, focus deepening on matching the candies on your screen.
You were stopped at a light somewhere, when you heard someone yelling on the sidewalk. You looked out the window, and it looked like they were yelling at you, but you had no idea who they were and it wasn’t your name they called out, so you just ignored them and went back to your phone.
A moment later, the front door to the cab opened, and someone slipped in just as the light turned green and the cab started away. “Hey!” you gave the stranger an incredulous look. “What the-”
“Mish, didn’t you hear my calling you?”
“I’m working.” He snapped.
The stranger looked back, and your hands came up in a ‘what the hell’ motioned, but he just gave you an awkward smile before turning back to the driver. “Okay, but Misha, this is important. We’ve been trying to call, and-”
“Like I said,” he motioned behind him to you. “I’m working.”
“But we’ve got a gig!”
“What?”
“Yeah!” the stranger wore a huge grin, dimples showed on his cheeks. “A legit fucking gig.”
“When? Where?”
“If you would have answered your phone..” he frowned and shook his head. He was moving in the front seat, but you couldn’t see what he was doing.
“Fuck off, Jared, you’re here, just tell me!”
“Turn left, here.”
“Jared, I’m-”
“It’ll take two seconds. Come on. Right there.” You could hear him typing on a phone. "Where you heading?"
"Orange street."
"Yeah, so cut this way, it'll bypass a bunch of the lights on this street. Shave off two minutes. You might not like it, but she will."
"I'd like you to get out." You muttered to yourself, annoyed that your ride home was being interrupted.
He turned, and about a block down the street, he slowed at a stop sign, and the back door opened. "Hey, guys." The man got in next to you, forcing you to slide over with a grumble. "Who's this?" He gave you a confused look.
"I’m the person paying for this ride-"
"Oh, awesome. Thanks."
You stared at the man next to you, mouth agape and Misha glanced back at you both. "I'm working, Jensen. She's my fare."
"Why are you picking up people when we're-"
"He didn't." You snapped. "I was here first."
"Oh.." he looked to his friend in the front with a silent "yeesh" before turning to their previous conversation which prompted you to roll your eyes again. "So, did you tell him yet?"
"Getting there."
"We've got a gig!" Jensen bounced in his seat next to you.
"Yeah, I got that." Misha muttered, looking out as he drove, switching to the next lane for a turn. "Jolly green interrupting giant here hasn't told me-"
"I was getting there!"
"It's at The Bootleg."
"No shit!?" Misha glanced back, turning in his seat for a moment only for everyone to yell at him to keep his eyes on the road. "How!?"
"Rob's playing." Jared informed him, while his buddy next to you found himself focused on you again. "Demanded us as an opening act. If it goes good, we might be able to score a few more shows."
"Nice! Oh, coming up on Orange."
"Hey." An elbow nudged you, and you looked at the man next to you. "You like rock music?"
"Maybe."
The smile that spread over his lips easily drew your attention. "Wanna come to the show? I play a mean guitar."
"We're here." The cab stopped, and Misha stopped the meter.
You licked your lips as you focused on pulling out cash and hanging it forward. "Keep the change."
"So, what do you say, sweetheart?"
"I'll think about it."
"How about I pick you up." He continued to smile at you as you froze half way out of the cab and looked back at him. "Saturday, 'round 6. Drinks when I get off stage."
"Jesus Christ, Jensen." Jared rolled his eyes. "Only you could pick up a girl in Misha's cab."
"I didn't say yes." He just continued to smile at you and you sighed. "What time do you go on?"
"9." Jared answered from the front seat while you slipped out of the car, finally.
"I'll be there at 8."
Jensen's smile widened. "I'll make sure you're on the list, sweetheart. What's your name?"
"Y/n Y/l/n. You better have a drink waiting for me too."
"Anything you want. Just name it."
"Surprise me." You shut the door and started up towards your place.
"I just might.." Jensen licked his lips and watched you enter your building.

Warnings : Reader is a little scared of storms, but Jared knows how to distract. It’s just all sweetness.
SPN GENRE BINGO MASTERLIST.
You loved the rain. The sounds, the smells. Everything so calm, soft and clean. You’d sit just outside of the rains reach with a blanket and a book and read.
You loved Texas. Not for the heat, or the food or the weather, but for Jared. You loved Texas because that’s where he lived when he wasn’t in Vancouver where you lived.
But here you were, two favourite things in one place. Jared was inside on the phone, while you sat outside, just out of reach of the rain, with a book, in the Texas humidity. It was peaceful. It was quiet. You loved the rain, but not the storm.
Thunder claps and lightning strikes. One made you jump, the other flinch. Between them, you were left in a state between fascination and fear. If you had been out in the yard, out on the streets, whichever you noticed first would have you running for cover and safety. But here, on Jared’s porch, you watched the sky light up with a flinch, and gave a small jump on the cracks.
“You okay?”
“Fine.” You looked up at him with a smile, but he didn’t miss the way your eyes shot to the sky when lightning lit it up again.
“Shit..” He cursed, hands running through his hair. “I forgot you get freaked out by storms.”
“I’ll be okay. I’m safe here, right?” You clenched your fist at the boom of thunder.
He nodded at first, but then his shoulders gave the tiniest shrug. “Are you also afraid of floods?”
You shook your head. “Not so much. A flood, I can handle.”
“Then yeah, you’re safe.” His eyes went up to the sky as lightning flashed, and he watched it quietly, but didn’t miss how you jumped at the boom of thunder. “I’ll be right back.”
You watched as he headed back inside, and curled your legs up into the seat with you. You tried your best to focus on the words of your book, reading the same paragraph for probably the sixth time, when Jared emerged again and dropped onto the patio sofa next to you. You glanced over at him as he placed a throw over the both of you and got comfortable.
“Come here.” He reached out for you and you were more than happy to shift so you could curl up into his side. “Sorry for dragging you down here..” He mumbled against your hair.
“It’s okay. I like it here.”
“Really? With our storms and-”
“Texas has you.” You looked up at him with a smile. “I like anywhere that has you.”
His smile slowly grew bigger, and he leaned in, letting his lips brush across yours in a sweet kiss. “I like anywhere that has you, too.” Your cheeks burned, and you rest your head against his chest. “Read to me?”
You gave him a nod, knowing it was his way of distracting you from the storm, and went a few pages back to the start of the chapter. As you read to him, the storm moved on. But the soft and soothing pitter patter of the rain continued, as you sat safe and warm in Jared’s arms.
Almost hoping for another Texas storm.

Prompt : Holiday Prompt #13 - Person A shoves snow down Person B’s shirt. Person B is not happy.
Warnings : Snow fight, payback.
It had began snowing outside earlier, much to the dismay of some, and the glee of others. The J's had been the first to run outside and throw snow around, huge smiles plastered on their faces and not a care about who got caught in the crossfire.
You had gotten caught in it, a ball hitting you right in the face and they both took off running.
But now, they were warm and their guards down. They'd had their coffee and been working inside for a few hours. You, however, had been plotting your revenge against the one who threw the snowball that had hit you in the face.
Jared Padalecki.
You saw him with his back to you, seated in a chair and focused on the monitor with Jensen at his side. With a smirk, you slipped off set to grab your jacket and then outside.
When you came back in a few minutes later, he luckily hadn't moved, but others had joined them by the monitors to fuss over the scene. You moved up behind him as silently and unnoticed as possible. Your fingers slipped under the collar of his shirt and pulled it away from his skin. Before he could react to someone pulling his shirt, he was reacting to the ice cold snow that you dumped down the back of it.
“Holy fuck!” he jumped up with a gasp, doing his best to shake the snow out as he turned, his surprised look directed at you as realization set it.
“Payback.” you smiled at him
“Oh, it's a bitch.”
Your eyes went wide and you started to run. You knew you couldn't outrun him, but luckily you didn't need to, not for long.
Jared chased you around the set, and you'd duck under or between things too keep a distance between you just until you got outside.
Bursting through the door that let to the parking lot, Jared was right behind you, still in just his t-shirt. “Now!”
Jared's eyes went wide as he glanced at the people surrounding him and he slowed, intending to bolt back inside. Before he had the chance to reach the door, buckets of snow were thrown on him, one after the other. “Fuck that's cold!!” he shivered, trying to get away from the assault.
You laughed from just beyond the cast and crew that had joined in on the fun. “Like you said, paybacks a bitch.” He turned, eyes landing on you again. “Oh shit.. Reload! Reload!” you yelled as you bolted towards the trailers with Jared once again right behind you.

Part 16 of ‘My son, Bringer of Storms’.
You were sitting on a plane, River was excitedly looking out the window. “Are we in Texas yet?”
“No, River. Probably not for a few more hours. We’ve only been in the air about an hour, and it’s a 4 ½ hour flight.”
“Aww.” He pouted. “Do we have to stop somewhere?”
“Nop. You got spoiled with a non-stop flight.”
“Uncle Jensen is my favorite uncle.” River grinned.
“You’ve never had any other uncle.” You pointed out. “Maybe one day you’ll meet your fathers siblings. You actually have an uncle and an aunt.”
“Yeah!? Will they be at this Barbecue too?” You shrugged and he looked back out the window.
You let out a sigh, wondering how you’d ended up on a flight to fucking Texas. But you knew how. Jensen had fucked you over. And by fucked you over, he’d played it smart. Made it so you couldn’t say no. “Asshole” You mumbled, looking down at your phone.
“What?” River looked back at you.
“Nothing, baby.” You smiled. “Just over three hours until we land.” He grinned and looked back out the window. You ran your hand over your bump with another sigh. This was going to be a disaster.
You were just about 7 months pregnant, when Jensen knocked at your door. “Hey Sweetheart.” He grinned. “So I’m having a big fourth of July barbecue, and you’re invited.”
“Oh?”
He nodded. “Family thing.”
“Your family’s flying up?”
He laughed. “No. You’re coming to Texas.”
“No.” You said it flat out. Heading back inside, he followed.
“Oh yes.”
“No, Jensen. I don’t belong there. Why would you even ask me?”
“You’re family.”
You chuckled. “I’m really not. I hate you.”
“Since when?” He laughed.
“Since now, if you ask me again.”
“I’m not asking. I’m telling.” He looked stern, as stern as he could anyways. “Jared is like a brother to me-”
“No.”
“Shut up let me finish.” He shot you a dirty look. “He’s my brother. River, he calls me uncle Jensen like Tom and Shep do. He’s family. So you’re family. Plus we’ve been friends for how many years?”
“I left for 9 of them, Jensen. It doesn’t count.”
“Suck it up Princess. You can’t tell me no.”
“I can, and I did.” He smirked. “What did you do?”
“I already bought your tickets.”
“Return them.” You growled at him.
He shook his head. “Non-refundable.”
“Then it fucking sucks to be you, you wasted your money.” He shook his head again with a smile. “We’re not-”
“Mom!” You were cut off by River running up the hall and into the house. “Look what uncle Jensen got us!! We’re going to Texas to meet my brothers! Just like I wanted!!” He waved the plane tickets.
You shot Jensen a death glare as he grinned, knowing he won. “I fucking hate you.”
“Love you too, Princess.” He chuckled with a wave as he headed out. “Oh, and don’t worry about a place to stay. You’re staying with us.”
“Jen-”
“I insist. Dani’s excited to meet you.” He smiled before heading off.
So here you were, sitting in Jensen’s back yard, watching River run around with JJ and the other kids. Misha and his family were here, and a few other people. Jared, Gen and their kids hadn’t gotten there yet. You were dreading that. You really didn’t want to be here.
“Stop being such a loner.” You looked up, and Jensen was smiling down at you.
“I told you, Jensen, I shouldn’t be here. It’s awkward.” You sighed. “And it’s only going to get worse.”
“Why don’t you go sit with the wives?” He pointed over to where Daneel and a few others were sitting and chatting while they drank wine.
“I’m not a wife. Besides, they’re her friends, Jensen. Don’t you think I’ve pissed her off, and fucked up his marriage enough for one lifetime?”
“That doesn’t sound like you.” He teased, but when you shot him a glare, he caved. “Fine. I’ll leave you alone.” He held up his hands and backed away. “Hey Vicki?” She turned. “Keep an eye on her for me?”
She smiled and nodded. “Of course.” Getting up, she made her way over to you.
When Gen walked in the front door with food in her hands, and a husband and kids in tow, she smiled and started to head for the kitchen. “Sounds like they’re all out back. I’ll put this down, you go let them know we’re here.”
“I’ll take that. Grab yourself some wine. You know she’ll have a few bottles open.” Jared smiled and kissed her cheek before grabbing the dish, and heading for the kitchen. Once Gen had her wine, and the dish was set up with the others he put an arm around her and motioned to the kids. “Alright, go find Uncle Jensen and tell him we’re here.” Both boys took off running and they chuckled.
Stepping outside, Jared looked around, nodding hello to people, then froze. “River!?”
River stopped playing and looked over. “Dad!! You’re finally here!” He ran over and threw himself at Jared for a hug.
“What are you doing here?” He looked up and looked around again, this time spotting you sitting in the grass talking to Vicki, a hand absentmindedly rubbing your growing stomach.
“Uncle Jensen remembered I wanted to visit Texas and meet my brothers, so he invited us.” He smiled. “Moms over there.” He pointed you out. He turned and looked at Gen. “Good afternoon Genevieve. It is a lovely day today is it not?”
Jared was focus on you for the moment, and feeling eyes on you, you looked over and gave him a small smile, one he returned.
“It is.” Gen answered. “I’m sorry for how I reacted last time I met you, River. Can we try again?” He grinned and nodded. “Hi, River, I’m Genevieve. And these here are your brothers. Tom and Shep.”
“River!” Tom hugged him. “I didn’t know you were coming!”
“Awesome right!?” Tom nodded. “Come! You can meet my mom! Did you know you’re going to have another brother or sister?”
“No way!” Tom’s mouth fell open.
“Yeah! My mom’s pregnant. Come on!”
Gen froze. “Did he just…”
“I told you we should have told them.” Jared shook his head.
“We don’t even know what she’s having.” She shot Jared a look. “Did you know she’d be here?”
“Not a fucking clue.” He watched as River introduced you to Tom and Shep, and then JJ ran over to drag all three kids away and back to the game she had been playing with River.
“Hi guys.” Dani smiled.
“You could have warned me.” She glared at her friend.
“Sorry.. Jensen asked me not to..” She winced. “She’s pretty nice, what little I talked to her. She’s a bit awkward around me though. I think it’s because of how close we are..” She shrugged. “Vicki really likes her. They’ve been over there talking together for the last hour.” When she looked back at Gen, she was downing the entire glass of wine. “Gen-”
“I’m going to need more.” Gen turned and headed inside.
Jared had gone over to say hi, ask about you and the baby. Gen was stuck to him like glue, so he introduced you, Vicki helping you stand so you could see her eye to eye. The whole time, any time Jared spoke to you, Gen was right there. You eventually stopped trying to have conversations with him, something he picked up on quickly when you all but blew off something he said to you.
River was having fun though, that’s all that mattered.
“So, you never mentioned what you’re having!” Dani pointed out as everyone was eating. “Maybe we should have a little baby shower for you or something…”
“I’m letting it be a surprise.” You smiled at her. “I have names picked out for both, and I got all kinds of newborn stuff in various colors. Anything I don’t use I plan to donate to the hospital, so I’m not worried about it.” You smiled.
“That sounds like such a fun way to do it!” Vicki smiled. “Can we hear the names?” She wiggled her eyebrows, excited. Gen rolled her eyes and turned her attention to something else.
You shook your head. “I want to see if they fit first. River wasn’t officially named until he was born. I mean, I wasn’t expecting him to be Stormborn.” You chuckled. “Originally, he was going to get Jared’s middle name.. But River Stormborn just rolled off the tongue when I held him.”
“You were going to name him after me?” You nodded, and he smiled. It warmed his heart that even if he hadn’t of known about River, he’d have had a son named for him. Vicki looked over at Jared, eyebrows up and waiting expectantly. “Don’t look at me, I have no idea what names she has picked out for this one.” He chuckled.
Gen turned at that, surprised. “Are you serious? It’s your kid too.. First, you’re not allowed to know what it is, now you can’t even name-”
“Gen..” He warned before she could continue. “I agreed to this, and if I don’t like it, I’ll tell her.”
Gen rolled her eyes but went back to picking at her food. There was so much she wanted to say, but she decided not to. This wasn’t the place to start an argument.
You could see she’d found another reason to hate you. “I asked him, Gen.”
She looked up. “What?”
“Jared. I asked if he wanted to know. He’s been at every appointment, they ask him every time if he wants to know. I told him he could find out, to just not tell anyone so it could be a surprise for me. He chose to let it be a surprise for everyone. As for the names..” You sighed. “I talked names with Jared for a bit. Trying to figure out what he’d like, but he kept turning it back on me. River’s name is.. unconventional, sure. But it’s a good name. Unique, fun. River loves it, so does everyone else it seems. Jared told me to do what I did with him again. I thought long and hard about names. I tried to run some past Jared.” You smiled at him. “But we’ll wait and see what rolls out when I hold him or her. I’m not shutting him out, I not refusing to let him take part.” You looked down at your barely touched plate of food. “Maybe you should ask before you get angry.”
You were relaxing in the grass and watching the kids play. Gen shot you a look as she walked past heading over to Jared. “You could stop with the dirty looks. You’re not hiding them as well as you think.” You told her, without taking your eyes off River.
“I’m not trying to.” She grumbled at you. “Not right now anyways.”
You rolled your eyes, and shifted to lean back, a hand going behind you, the other rubbing your stomach with your legs stretched out. “Whatever. Hate me all you want, just be nice to my kid, okay?” You looked up at her. “He hasn’t done anything but be nice to you.”
“He told the boys.” She ground out. “We didn’t have that talk with them yet, and now they’re asking questions.”
“And who’s fault is that?” You raised an eyebrow. “You had 6 months, Gen. I’m 7 months pregnant, what are you waiting for? The kid to be born? And they haven’t asked anything yet.” You shook your head before looking back to the kids. “They’ve been glued to River. They barely said a word to you since you got here. Just sit down with them and be honest when you get home.”
“Like you were honest with River about his dad?” She shot.
You glared up at her. “I never lied to River about his father. He knew Jared wanted him. He knew it was me who walked away. The only thing he didn’t know, was a name.” You scoffed and looked away from her. “I told Jensen this was a bad idea.”
“Then why are you here?” She had her arms crossed.
“Because Jared fucked up.”
“Oh blame Jared, Typica-”
“He promised River that he’d bring him here to Texas to meet his brothers. And then River met you, and found out Jared had never even mentioned him to you, or them. It broke his fucking heart. All he’s wanted since then, was to be a family with his brothers. And for you to like him enough to let him visit sometimes. He never got that. Jared never even mentioned it again. Jensen bought the tickets, I didn’t even find out until he’d already handed them to River and told him. Jensen’s way of making sure I didn’t say no. I don’t want to be here, Gen. I don’t fucking belong here. This is your family, not mine. But like it or not, it’s his too.” You motioned to River. “You’re going to have to get use to seeing us around.”

Final part of ‘My son, Bringer of Storms’.
You were staring at the wall, trying to keep calm and relaxed. Jensen was out in the hall with River, but in here, you were alone. Again. And even though you’ve done this before, you were scared. You tried your best not to cry, you wouldn’t give him that satisfaction.
“It’s only a matter of time now.” The nurse smiled at you. “Would you like me to call for the anesthesiologist now?” You nodded. You knew you couldn’t wait much longer. “Alright, I’ll be back.” She left the room.
You eyes didn’t leave the wall. Your heart breaking. “Y/n?” You hadn’t heard the door open, or anyone come in. With nurses in and out, you didn’t care. “Sweetheart?” That grabbed your attention.
Turning, you looked up into his hazel eyes. “Jared?”
He smiled. “Yeah. I’m here. I hauled ass to the airport as soon as Jensen called.” He cupped your face, his thumb brushing over your cheek. “Don’t be scared, you’ve got this. You’re amazing.”
You smiled at him. “I’m glad you made it. I was scared you weren’t coming…”
“I wouldn’t miss this for the world.” He kissed your forehead. “The boys are excited. They want to skype with River as soon as the baby’s here.”
You nodded. “He’ll like that.” You paused, clenching your fist and jaw at a contraction. “And Gen?” You ground out, trying not to whimper in pain.
“Don’t worry about her. Right now, everything is about you and this baby.”
“I’m really, really happy you’re here.”
He smiled again. “So am I.”
“Alright.” The door opened, and the nurse came in with a man wearing scrubs and a face mask. “Let’s get you ready for this baby.” He smiled before pulling on the face mask.
“I told you Dad would make it.” The nurse smiled, but when she got around the bed, and saw Jared’s face, she froze. “You’re the dad!?” He smiled and nodded. “This is… wow this is not your wife…”
He chuckled. “I’m aware.”
“She’s beautiful.” Jared breathed out as cries filled the room.
“She?” You looked down as they placed her on your chest.
“Three boys, I was sure it would be another one.” He grinned and his eyes shifted from the baby to you. “A daughter. You gave me a daughter.”
You smiled, tears running down your cheeks as you looked at her. “She is so beautiful.” You chuckled. You didn’t even notice the nurse and doctor hard at work cleaning and stitching you up. Or Jared snapping pictures of you and the baby.
“I’m glad you kept her, sweetheart.” He kissed your forehead. “River’s going to lose it when he comes in. And I can’t wait to call Tom and Shep and tell them they have a sister.”
“Soon.” You were so in love with her. “Can we just enjoy her a little bit first, you and me?” You glanced up at him.
“Of course.” He smiled, so full of love and adoration.
They took her off your chest to weigh her and get her cleaned up. Once you were both cleaned up and everyone was out of the room, Jared wrapped her in a receiving blanket and held her.
She was so tiny in his arms. He moved around a little with her, and you grabbed your phone to snap a picture. “God, I love you.” He breathed out. You were looking down at the picture on your phone, wishing you could post it, share it with the world. “Sweetheart?”
“Hm?” You looked up, realizing he was looking at you.
“Did you hear me?” You shook your head. “I love you.”
“What?”
“I love you. I’ve always loved you, and I never stopped. I never should have left, I never should have went back. I want you. It was always you.” You sat there just staring. He gave an awkward chuckle. “Say something. Please..”
“You haven’t told me you loved me since the day I left.. When you tried to get me to stay..”
“Because I was afraid you’d leave. Or worse, I was afraid you’d say it back and I’d leave. But I don’t care anymore. I work so hard to make everyone else happy. You’re my happy. This is my happy.” He looked down, with a huge smile on his face. “What’s her name?”
“Get River and Jensen, and I’ll tell you.”
He nodded, and opened the door. “Come on in and met your sister.”
You heard River shout all excitedly “I HAVE A SISTER?!” You laughed as he ran in and hugged you. “I always wanted a sister!” He mumbled into your shoulder.
“So Princess, what’s the name?” Jensen grinned.
Gen went to post a picture of the boys to her twitter when she noticed more notifications than usual. Curious, she clicked it, and noticed people were mentioning her in comments saying ‘congratulations’. “For what..?” She mumbled and clicked.
She froze when she saw she was looking at a picture of a newborn. Then she realized Jared had posted it with the caption ‘It’s a girl!’.
Top comment read : “I didn’t know @RealGpad was pregnant! Gratz guys! She’s beautiful.”
When your daughter was 10 months old, the boys were in the middle of convention season. It was August in Vancouver, and you and River sat front row at one of Jared and Jensen’s panels. They were laughing, and telling stories, keeping the crowd engaged.
Then it happened. “Hi, Jared?”
“Hey.” He smiled. “How are you?”
“I’m good.” She blushed. “So uh, we’ve all heard, and are dying to know about the rumors that you’ve left Gen, and have kids with other women? I’m sure-”
Jensen cut her off. “Come on, man. Is that really appropriate?”
Jared chuckled. “It’s okay Jen. Uh, it’s something I’ve been avoiding a bit, while things got settled.” He scratched at his nose. “But uhm. You know what, I think I’m ready to answer this.” He nodded at her, and the crowd went quiet.
Licking his lips he started. “Uh, in early Supernatural days, I met this girl.” He grinned. “She was amazing. We were fast friends. And then obviously more. I uh, I loved her.” The crowd awed, making him blush a bit. “As time went on, I just.. I loved her more and more. I wanted to give her the world, but we were young.” He shrugged. “She wasn’t ready for that, and I sort of scared her off. I never forgot that girl. Even when I moved on, she always had a place in my heart.” You blushed and looked down at your daughter in your arms.
“Is this girl the mother of one of your kids?” A fan called out.
“I’m getting there, calm down.” He teased and glanced to Jensen then back over the crowd. “One day, like 2 years ago, I’m walking to set, and Jensen comes out of nowhere scaring the shit out of me. He’s telling me not to go. I figure, epic prank in progress, so I go in anyways. And she’s there. After being gone for 9 years, she came back.” His smile was huge. “By then, I’m married, kids, you know… Anyways, I’m super awkward, I have no idea what to say to her, but she’s sitting with us eating lunch when she gets a call. School, her kids sick, so Jensen and I drive her to get him. The three of us had been really good friends, so I guess we were trying to get that back.”
“She was my drinking buddy.” Jensen smiled. “She’d drink me under the table and dare me to do stupid shit to Jared. Girl loved her pranks. Still does.”
“Anyways.” Jared rolls his eyes. “Next thing I know, this kid gets in my car, spitting image of me, and I’m freaking out. He’s eight, timeline fits, I can’t believe it. I wanted a family with this girl, and I’m finding out 9 years later, I have one and don’t even know it. It caused some problems with Gen.. I fucked up bad there. More than once, and not just with Gen. With my son, with his mom… It lead to a break up, which led to a night of… well, you can guess… which lead to getting back with Gen, and finding out someone was pregnant. Again. I had a beautiful daughter, many of you saw the picture after she was born. I love her like you wouldn’t believe.” He smiled.
“So what happened with Gen?” Someone asked.
“It didn’t work. It couldn’t. I was still in love with someone else. She’s here, right now. Sitting in the crowd actually.” He chuckled as everyone looked around, trying to figure out who.
“You might as well introduce them.” Jensen shrugged.
Jared nodded. “First, I’d like you all to meet my son, the bringer of storms. River Stormborn.”
River grinned, and looked at you. “Go on.” He got up and ran up onto the stage and right to Jared. People clapped for him and he grinned, then went to stand next to Jensen’s chair and talk to him.
“And my daughter. Zaria Ironheart.” He motioned for you to come up, and you groaned, getting out of your chair and making your way up. He kissed her forehead, then smiled at you before raising the microphone to his mouth again. “And finally, my fiance, Y/n.”
“What…?” You had a look of shock and confusion on your face as Jensen got up, and took Zaria out of your arms. “Jare-”
He got down on his knee and pulled a small velvet box out of his pocket and opened it. “I know things didn’t turn out the way I wanted last time this came up, but I have a feeling it’ll go better this time.” He grinned. “I love you. I never stopped. Will you please say yes?”
The crowd was chanting, clapping, some even grumbling in displeasure, but it was all background noise to you. Jensen held his microphone close to your mouth so everyone could hear your answer. “Yes.” You smiled, tears of happiness starting to flow. “You don’t even need to ask.”

Part 14 in ‘My son, Bringer of Storms’.
Jared stood there staring at you, his heart sinking into the pit of his stomach. “Wh-what?”
“I’m pregnant.” You sounded annoyed.
“Oh…” His eyes drifted down to your stomach. You could see uncertainty there, and…
You groaned. “It’s yours, you fucking asshole.”
You smacked him in the chest, and made to leave, but he grabbed your wrist and his eyes shot back up. “Wait, what!? But we- It was-”
“I haven’t been with anyone else since I moved back.” You shrugged pulling from his grasp. “I haven’t even dated since coming back.”
“Why?” Now he looked confused.
“You know why.” You answered softly. When he continued to look confused, you rolled your eyes. “Because, I was madly in love with this guy? He’s tall, kind of an idiot at times, married though. But I ignored everything that told me to stay away because he’s the father of my kid?” You glanced down at your stomach. “Kids?”
“A-are you keeping it?”
“I don’t know.”
“Does River know?”
You shook your head. “Not yet. Not until I decide.” You sat down on the couch with a sigh.
“But you’re telling me?”
“You were pretty pissed that I didn’t last time. Figured I at least owed you this one. Keeping it or not.”
“Fuck… What will I tell Gen..” He groaned.
“I don’t fucking care. Tell her whatever the hell you want.. Or don’t. I honestly couldn’t care less.”
“Don’t-”
“Hate her? For shitting on every happy moment I had with you over the last year? Including you spending time with your son? Too late. I stopped posting on social media all together because of her.” Jared sighed, running his fingers through his hair, trying to think. “Anyways..” You said getting up. “I just came to tell you. I’ll text you when I make a decision.” You started for the door.
“Y/N?” You stopped but didn’t turn. “I want to be there. If you keep it. I want to be there as much as I can. And be on the birth certificate. Please. I missed it all with River. Let me at least be there if you keep it?”
“I’ll let you know.” You told him before opening the trailer door and walking out.
You stepped out into the bright sun, and down the steps. You leaned on the side of his trailer for a minute, knowing you had time. He’d need to process this, and would likely call Jensen before anything else.
Pulling out your phone, you smiled as you signed into twitter for the first time in over a month.
I know you’re still here, waiting. Remember when I said you won? I lied. I’m pregnant.
Hitting post, you put your phone back into your pocket, and smirked to yourself before heading to find your boss. If she wanted to stalk your twitter, you’d shit on her parade like she did yours.
Jared had sent Jensen a text, telling him to get there as soon as he could. He was sitting on the couch with his head in his hands waiting. Processing. “Another kid..” He mumbled to himself. He chuckled and smiled. “One fucking night, and another kid..”
It wasn’t long before his phone rang. “Hey.” He answered without looking, figuring it was Jensen.
“Hey babe.” He cursed under his breath hearing Gen. “How’s your day going?”
“Not bad.. Yours?”
“It’s alright.” She paused a moment. “Hey, is there anything you want to tell me?”
“Uh-”
“Like she’s fucking pregnant! And it’s yours!”
“How did you-”
“Twitter, Jared. She posted it on fucking twitter, rubbing it in my face!”
“That doesn’t sound like her..” He furrowed his brow. You kept him being River’s dad a secret from your mom, why would you post it all over twitter and tag Gen?
“Well, she fucking did!” Gen yelled. “When the hell were you planning on telling me this time? When he’s graduating college?”
“I just found out, Gen. Fuck, she just left not 5 minutes ago.”
“Really? You’re not lying?”
“No! Ask Jensen, I was standing with him 10 minutes ago going over scenes when she pulled me away.”
“That bitch.” Gen scoffed. “I can’t fucking believe her. Not even really giving you a chance to tell me..”
“Look, I’ll deal with it later, okay. I’m still processing, and I’m really sorry you found out this way. She doesn’t even know if she wants to keep it-”
“She will just to fucking spite me.” Gen grumbled.
Jared sighed. “As soon as I know anything else, you’ll know. I promise, baby. I love you.”
“I love you too. But you better have a fucking talk with her. This was low, Jared.”
“I will, I promise.” He looked up as Jensen opened the door. “I’ll talk to you later baby.”
Jensen looked worried as Jared hung up the phone. “What the fuck happened now?!”
“Y/N’s pregnant.”
“Shit..” Jensen groaned and shut the door.
River was setting the table while you took dinner out of the oven when you heard your front door open, then slam shut. You turned just as Jared rounded the corner. “What the fuck is wrong with you!?”
You cocked an eyebrow. “Me? What’s wrong with you? You just barge into people’s houses now, and yell at them in front of children?”
He glanced at River who stared at him wide eyed, with plates in his hand. Jared pulled out his keys and tossed them to River, who put the plates down in time to catch the keys. “Go upstairs, play a game for a bit.”
“No.” You told them firmly. “We’re having dinner. You can wait.”
River looked between the two of you. “Upstairs, River.” Jared’s jaw was clenched.
River glanced at you one more time before walking out of the room. “You guys need privacy…”
Once the door closed, you let just how pissed you were show. “You don’t get to contradict me like that to my son.” You growled at him. “If I say no, it’s no, Jared.”
“Our son.” He correct.
“MY son. I’m his sole fucking guardian.”
“Who’s fault is that?” He shot back. “I didn’t even get a fucking choice!”
“Is that why you barged into my house? To give me shit because you didn’t get a choice? I doubt it. So why don’t you tell me what the fuck you’re problem is, so I can get dinner on the table and try to salvage what’s left of my night. Hm?”
“Why would you be such a cunt about this?”
“What are you talking about!?”
“I didn’t even get a chance to fucking call her! She called me, losing her shit thinking I was keeping another kid fucking secret from her!” You smirked at that. “It’s not fucking funny!”
“Little bit is.” You chuckled. “I had hoped. Relay a message for me? Maybe if she spent half the effort she used stalking me on fixing her fucking marriage, I wouldn’t be pregnant. And maybe, just maybe if she wasn’t such an asshole every time I post something happy, I wouldn’t have done what I did today.”
“So you fucking announce it and rub it in her face just because you’re pissed that she-”
“That she waited until you moved on to decide she still loved you? Yeah. Little bit. But I didn’t rub shit in her face, Jared. It’s not like I forced her to see it by tagging her. I posted it to MY page, tagging no one, saying no names. Tell her to leave me the fuck alone.”
He furrowed his brow. “You didn’t post to her that it’s mine?”
“No. I’m pissed at her, but I wouldn’t ruin your fucking life, Jared. Is that what she told you I did?”
“Kinda.. I mean she knew you were pregnant, and it’s mine. She said you posted it on Twitter and rubbed it in..”
You sighed, and moved past him to grab your laptop. Walking back into the kitchen you set it on the table and opened it, going to your twitter and showing him. “I haven’t posted in over a month. I didn’t tag her, or anything.” You pointed out the status. “She doesn’t even follow me, Jared. She goes out of her way, to come onto my page and read shit. That’s why I posted it. So you’d see what she’s been doing all along. Every fucking time you’re happy here, no matter how fucking vague the tweet, she calls you, and all hell breaks loose. I can’t even be fucking happy my son has his father in his life because heaven forbid you make fucking dinner with him.” You slammed the laptop closed.
“I didn’t-”
“No, you didn’t know. But I bet you came in here guns blazing, without even checking the fucking tweet for yourself, because she threw a bitch fit. Tell her to fuck herself. Now get out, and send my son down for dinner.”

Part 8 in ‘My son, Bringer of Storms’.
“Alright kid, bed time.” You informed River, putting your controller down.
“But you guys haven’t even found me yet!” He pouted.
“You have school tomorrow, River, listen to your mother.” Jared chimed in.
“Aw come on, you’re suppose to be the good, fun parent.”
You cocked an eyebrow. “Say that again?”
He looked at you, bottom lip sticking out for a minute. “Just saying, between the two of you, I could probably convince dad of more. You’ve had a long time to build defenses against my charms.” He smiled.
“Bed, River.” You pointed towards his room. “Before I choke slam you into it.” You teased.
“Don’t even pretend to be as awesome as The Undertaker.” He narrowed his eyes. “It summons him. And then he’ll put you in a coffin!”
“I don’t think he does coffin matches anymore, kid. I wish he did though.”
“Kid knows The Undertaker?!” Jensen’s eyebrows shot up.
“Of course kid knows the undertaker.” River narrowed his eyes at Jensen. “Kid isn’t stupid.”
“Let’s go.” Jared motioned for him to get moving, and started to get up.
“Jensen can tuck me in.” River smiled and Jensen shook his head knowing he was just trying to get you two alone.
Once they were out of the room, you settled back into trying to find Jared in the game so you could kill him. “So..” Jared licked his lips. “I’m heading back to Texas with Jensen tomorrow.”
“Okay.” You nodded.
“Gonna go see the kids. Just thought I’d let you know.”
You smiled softly. “You don’t need to tell me where you are every minute, Jared.” You glanced at him. “Just go see your kids.”
“Well, I figured, you know, if something came up. An Emergency or something…”
“If something came up, and I called, and you said ‘sorry, back home’ I’d do what I’ve been doing since he was born. I’d call my mother. Or baby sitter, or a friend. I’ll be fine, Jared. Stop worrying about us.” He nodded to himself with a soft sigh. You glanced at him, and you knew that look. He wanted to feel needed. “Jared?” He looked over at you. “We don’t need you every minute of every day. But we do want you around for as many of them as we can get.” You smiled at him.
“Thanks.” He smiled softly back.
A couple more weeks went by, and things were pretty normal. River had a day off on Friday, and the plan was for him to go to his friend’s house while you worked. You heard his alarm going off as you sipped your coffee. It was 9am, and you were going in a bit late then working a bit late to make up for it. River would likely be sleeping over at Chris’s house anyways. His mom was always more than happy to keep River over, saying he was a good influence on her kids.
“Morning sleepy head.” You chuckled. His bed head matched his father’s, a fact that had both made you laugh, and broke your heart for years.
“Morning.” He grumbled. You put a hot chocolate down in front of him as he sat, and he smiled. “Thanks mom.”
“Now, what do you want for breakfast?”
It was just past 11, and you were still on your couch. Plans had changed, and River was off in his room. You heard a knock on your door, getting up, you went and opened it. “Jared? Why aren’t you at work? And what is all that?”
He looked at you confused. “Shouldn’t you be in bed?”
“Why would I be? Jared, it’s almost noon.. And again.. “ You motioned to the things in his arms.
“Uh.. River called. Told me you were really sick, so I left early. Brought soup, and figured flowers might cheer you up, and a movie… You’re not sick, are you..”
You shook your head. “No, but flowers still cheer me up. River!” You motioned for Jared to come in, and shut the door.
“How come you didn’t come in today?”
“No school. He was suppose to go to Chris’s, but it fell through last minute and I couldn’t find anyone to watch him. Now, River!”
Jared motioned behind you, and you turned to see River slowly backing back down the hall. “Oh, uh, hi dad. What are you doing here?” He tried to look innocent.
“Why did you lie to me River?” Jared asked. River just shrugged and looked down. “I was worried, you know. I left work thinking someone had to come and take care of you two..”
“Sorry.” He mumbled, looking at his feet.
“Room, now. You’re grounded. No video games today.”
“But-!”
“No. You lied. Go, before I make it two days. I’m not happy, River.”
“Sorry mom.” He sulked back to his room.
“Sorry, Jared.” You took the flowers from him, and you both headed to the kitchen. “You can head back into work if you want.” You reached into a cupboard for a vase while Jared opened the fridge to put the soup away..
“No, it’s okay. Actually, I wanted to ask you something anyways, and I figure since I’m already here, today would be a good day to do it.” You turned to him as you filled the vase with water. “I was thinking of facetiming the kids with River. It’s about time they sort of meet, right? I didn’t want to just do it, since I’m not sure how it’s going to go, and he’s been hurt already… I figured it was best to ask you first.”
“I think he’d like that.” You smiled, glad that maybe things were moving forward again. Your phone rang in the other room. “One sec.” You turned off the water, and put the vase down.
“Hello?” Jared heard you in the living room. “What? Didn’t River call? He said you couldn’t today.” Jared stepped into the living room and watched as you sighed and looked up at him, you jaw setting. “No, it’s okay, I’m home now and he’s grounded. Double grounded now.” You nodded. “No, really, thanks for calling Sarah.”
“What’s up?” He asked when you hung up.
“Apparently, he’s lying to me too now. After I got him ready to go this morning, I told him to call and let Chris’s mom know we were on our way. He told me she was sorry but something came up.” You licked your lips and shook your head. “That was her on the phone, wondering where River was. As far as she knows, he never even called this morning.”
“That doesn’t sound like him.” He furrowed his brow, looking up the hall towards River’s room.
“No, it doesn’t.” You started to walk towards his room. “I’m going to figure out what the fuck is going on..” You walked into Rivers room. “Plan on telling me why you’ve been lying?”
“I-” He started.
“And you better not lie to me again, River.”
“I didn’t!”
“You’re grounded for two days already. Tell me the truth, or I’ll make it three.”
“I thought it was just today..”
“It was. Until Sarah called.” You watched his expression change. “Yeah. Did you really think she wouldn’t wonder where you were when she was suppose to be watching you today?” He looked down and shook his head. “What the hell, River. Since when are you this kid?”
“Since I’m trying to get what I want. Bring the storm, remember?”
“You want to get in shit?” You looked at him confused.
He shook his head again. “No. I want you and dad together.”
“River..” You sighed. “It’s not going to happen, so stop this.”
“Why not!”
“River, leave it alone.” You were practically warning him.
“Can’t you see that he loves you!? That you love him?!” He was practically screaming at you from where he sat in the middle of his bed.
“Of course I know I love him! I’ve never stopped! I fucked up, I left the love of my life and I regret it every single day. But I made my choice, and I’m living with it. And to be honest, River, I’d do it again. As much as it kills me every single day, I’d do it again. It got me you. So when I say to leave it alone, I mean leave it alone. He’s married to someone else, so stay out of it. You can’t force us to be together. And you better not keep trying to break apart his marriage. I fuck up enough for the two of us.”
“But mom-”
“No, River! I’m sorry, but you can’t have this.”
Jared stood outside in the hall, just two feet from Rivers door. He had decided to go give his support to you while you dealt with this, but hearing River wanted the two of you together stopped him in his tracks. Hearing that you still loved him, had his head spinning.
“I need to sit down..” He mumbled softly to himself as he turned and headed back for the living room. He dropped onto the couch and let his head fall back. After a minute of thinking in silence, his decision was made. He wouldn’t mention hearing any of that. You were right, he was married to someone else, even if it was a rocky marriage at the moment. So nothing between the two of you could change. And him saying something just might make things unbearably awkward.
“Time to get it together.” He told himself, just moments before he heard you stepping out into the hall.

Part 9 in ‘My son, Bringer of Storms’.
Instead of heading to the living room, you walked into your room and sat down on the edge of the bed. You just admitted out loud, to yourself and your son, that you were still madly in love with Jared. You sighed, just sitting there and trying to relax. You had told River not to tell Jared, that it would just make things harder for everyone. Now you needed to convince yourself not to cave in.
“I’m sorry.” You looked up hearing Jared’s voice, but he wasn’t talking to you. He was standing in River’s door way right across from yours.
“I should be apologizing. I’m sorry I lied to you, and mom. I-”
“River..” Jared leaned his shoulder on the door frame, and you watched him shake his head softly. “I’m sorry. I haven’t been your dad very long, and I’m not doing so great. Even when I’m here, I’m only half focused on you at best. I’m so worried about my marriage, I miss my other kids.. That’s not fair to you.” He sighed. “So I was wondering. Would you like to talk to your brothers later?”
“R-really?”
Jared nodded. “It’s about time, don’t you think?”
“Don’t they not know who I am?”
Jared smiled. “I mentioned they had a big brother the last time I was home. So what do you say? It’ll be just on facetime, but it’s a start.” You didn’t need to see River to know he’d be smiling.
Jared pulled out his phone, and messaged Gen to see when they could facetime with him. After getting an answer, and telling River, Jared turned to talk to you but found your room empty. He heard you in the kitchen and followed the sound. “What are you doing?”
“Heating the soup.” You put a pot down on the stove.
“You only eat soup when you’re sick. You’re not sick.”
“Yeah, but I don’t feel like cooking.” You didn’t feel like eating either, but knew you had to.
Jared walked over and took the soup container out of your hands. “I’ll go pick us all up some lunch. I have time before I facetime with the kids. And I’ll cook dinner tonight.”
“You don’t-”
He cut you off. “I want to. I have years to make up for. And are you really going to turn down me cooking for you?”
“Did you get better at it?” You teased.
He smiled. “Smart-ass. What do you feel like eating? I’ll get you anything you want.”
River was helping you clean up after lunch while Jared got started. You heard Gens voice for a moment, but it didn’t last long before you could hear the excited voices of Tom and Shep. Clean up went quick, and then River headed for the living room. You sat at the kitchen table and flipped through your social media. River stood awkwardly for a moment. You’d never seen him look so nervous.
Jared glanced up at him and smiled. “Hey, guys. There’s someone I want you to say hi to.” He reached out and pulled River to sit next to him. “This is your big brother, River. Remember, I told you about him.”
“Are you as funny as daddy says you are!?” Tom asked excitedly.
River grinned. “I hope I am. Wanna hear a joke?”
Gen was happy to see Jared’s face on her screen, to hear his voice again. As upset as she had been about everything, he was her husband, she loved and missed him. She stayed aside while the boys talked with their dad, Tom holding the tablet for him and Shep. She smiled at how they lit up seeing Jared, but her smile faded fast when Jared brought in River.
She wasn’t so much mad that River was being introduced to the boys, it was that she wasn’t told. She didn’t even know Jared had mentioned him to them. She had been worried since finding out about River at how this would affect them, how would they react. She had been waiting to work things out with Jared before telling them, so they could answer any question they had together. Now she’d be on her own with this. “Asshole.” She mumbled under her breath.
Her boys were laughing loudly at the jokes River was telling them. She was glad things seemed to be going smoothly, but she was still very much upset. “I need to tell that joke to uncle Jensen!” Tom laughed. “Hey, do you call him uncle Jensen too?!”
Hearing that River did, Gen began to wonder just how close her friends were to this kid, and why no one had told her. She knew Jensen knew River, but had no idea he was ‘Uncle Jensen’ to him too. She chewed on the inside of her cheek, watching Jared and River on the screen from where she sat out of view of the camera.
As Jared said goodbye to the boys, he watched Gen take the tablet while they hurried off trying to tell each other jokes like River had told them. “Can we talk?” She looked into the camera.
“Of course.”
“Mom!” River got up off the couch next to Jared. You looked up and smiled at how happy he looked. “I think they really like me mom!”
You chuckled softly. “Of course they do, baby. No one in their right mind could not like you. And anyone who doesn’t, we don’t need that in our lives. Right?”
“Right.” He grinned.
Gen sighed, feeling like that was a dig at her. “Can we talk alone?”
“Yeah.” As Jared stood up from the couch, River ran over to hug you, then ran back to his room saying he needed new jokes for next time. Jared chuckled, and smiled, then motioned to you that he’d be out in the hall for a moment. “What’s u-”
“How dare you Jared!”
“What’d I do now!?” He looked confused at his screen as he stood there in the empty hall, the door behind him still open.
“You didn’t even talk to me before doing that!”
“What, now I’m in shit for not keeping him secret? What the hell, Gen..”
“No, Jared, and don’t try to turn this into me hating the kid!” She shook her head, and then licked her lips. “I should have been warned. I didn’t even know you told them about him! I’ve been worried since finding out, about how they’d take it, how they’d react, what questions they would ask. I wanted to do this as a family. I wanted us to sit down together and talk it all out, at least have you here to answer their questions. Most of all I wanted to reassure them that it didn’t change us. I wanted us good first. Now I’m on my own here.. I’m going to have to answer shit I don’t have answers to!”
“They took it fine, Gen. They like him, they’re happy-”
“It’s not the fucking point Jared. You should have talked to me first.”
“They’re my kids too, Gen.”
“Yeah, too. I’ve never made a decision about them without talking to you. Especially not about something this big, something that obviously was hurting you. I expected the same respect, Jared.”
You walked by the front door, and glanced at him out in the hall and saw him all but crumble. “I’m sorry I fucked up, again-”
“Stop acting like you’re the victim Jared. Her not telling you, yeah, you’re the victim there. But everything after that, you did that yourself.”
“I’m not.” He leaned back against a wall. “I just- Every time I think I’m doing right by someone, I’m doing wrong by everyone else apparently. I don’t know what to do here, Gen. How the fuck do I navigate this so no one’s upset at me?”
“Stop hiding shit.”
“I tried that today. Guess what, Gen? You’re still pissed.”
“Of course, you probably did it to make her happy. Yo-”
“I did it for him. All he wants is for you to not hate him, and his brothers to know who he is. It killed him to find out I didn’t tell you about him. I was scared me and you were done, he wanted me to go home to you and the kids. He was willing to never see me again just so Tom and Shep had their dad. He lived without one, he didn’t want them to. Fuck Gen, just give him a chance.”
“You’re acting like I hate him.”
“You hate the idea of him.”
“No, I hate that he was a big secret, Jared. I hate that you told your buddies in the bar about him and I had it hear it from their fucking wives a week later. I hate just finding out now how close he is to Jensen. I hate how every time I turn around, it’s happy family moments over there, while I’m struggling to hold this together as best as I can. I feel like we’re falling apart.”
Your eyes went down as you walked away to go see what River would want for dinner. When you were heading back to the kitchen, you saw Jared still in the hall, but no longer talking to Gen. “Jared?” He looked up. “How about I cook for you tonight.”
He shook his head and pushed off the wall. “No, it’s okay. It’ll keep my mind busy for a bit.”
“You’ll get through this.” You gave him a soft smile. “You and Gen. Just send the kids to your moms for a weekend, sit down and talk to her.”
He watched you for a minute, wondering why you were trying to help him with his marriage. He wondered why you didn’t just tell him to forget about her, that you loved him and wanted him back. Why didn’t you take advantage of his marriage falling apart. But he knew the answer, you weren’t that kind of person. You never had been. He had always loved that about you. Caring to a fault. He sighed. “I’m not so sure we can get through this. But if you think I should, I’ll give that a try.”
You nodded. “Don’t make my mistake, don’t just walk away.” You swallowed the lump in your throat, it was how he looked at you, it was getting to you. It made you want to wrap your arms around him and never let go.
He took the last two steps that brought him to you, and wrapped an arm around your shoulders before he kissed the top of your head. “You’re too good for me, sweetheart. Too caring for your own good.” You closed your eyes, your heart pounding just a bit louder at the feel of him so close. “Come on. Let’s get to work on dinner.”
When Jared pulled away, he looked down at you and it killed him. He knew he must have the same look on his face. He had to force himself back into the apartment before he kissed you. All he wanted in that moment was to feel your lips on his one more time.
But he couldn’t. He was a married man.
