昔、一人の若い人が坊主になるために寺で勉強を始めた。しかし、寺の勉強はつまらないので、その人は三日で勉強をやめてしまった。だから、新しい仕事や勉強を始めても、すぐやめてしまう人を「三日坊主」という。
