Skate Society’s Lewes Jamma Lamma ‘21 We were asked to be part of this year's Jamma Lamma, Pete (The Skate Society) created a wicked day for skaters and creatives to hang out in the sun, and there was only one hospital admission! Everyone who came made it possible, and everyone who skated, skated hard. We had a stall, and in preparation, we got a big professional banner made so people would know who we are; Josh left that at his house, which was good. After going back and collecting the banner, we taped it to the back of a quarter pipe opposite our spot, and the stall was set.
The first part of the afternoon was a mini jam for kids there was a mini quarter pipe leading to a ramp and empty Harveys keg. These kids ripped and showed no fear. That is both exciting and terrifying to see how skating will progress for these guys in the future.Â
From there each event flowed into the next in a mix of brutal slams and techy skating. Everyone seemed so stoked to be part of it, as were we. Events like the Jamma Lamma are great examples of how and why DIY scenes work. Thanks everyone who brought a shirt or had a chat with us, Lewes Jamma Lamma; we salute you. Cheers The Skate Society for having us! Written by Josh Dell at (Worthless Clothing .Co) Photos 1,2 and 5 by https://bowlskaters.com
