"Has it been safety tested yet?" No way is he gonna risk getting his toe ran over again, and spending a whole week out to commission for it…not that he minded the extra ZZZs.

He eyes the spikes thoughtfully, a hungry gleam forming in them.

"...and by safety tested, I mean thoroughly tested for the safety of the person operating it."

Late autumn is one of Gai’s favourite seasons, with amber and red foliage raging brighter than ever, while the occasional breeze sweeps through the streets. His good mood sets him out on a light jog — nothing like a little bit of warmth in one’s blood to set one’s day right!

A familiar sight stumbles into sight, and Gai slows to a stop. “Hello stranger, what’s wrong?” He asks, eyebrows knit in worry. She didn’t look like she was in the right state at all! Although… she looks really familiar! Gai feels like he has seen her before.

He approaches her and is just about to reach out a hand to steady her when she starts disintegrating.

“W-what?!” Gai freezes, then quickly lunges forward to grab her, but she disappears as quickly as she appeared, and all he catches in his hands is loose dirt.

The voice snaps like a bear trap.

"You! With the ludicrous white hair! How dare you use the peace that young Hashirama fought for to peep on these women?"

A gaunt-looking woman sweeps toward Jiraiya. Despite her words, she looks at least ten years younger than him. Her eyes glint unnaturally, like polished stones that have curses upon them. Her kimono is arranged as if it is her own funeral, and something about her general aura seems... Wrong.

Jiraiya turns his head, he was still squatting down and level with a hole in the fence. His face pulled into an annoyed scowl.

Bwahaha, yes, that’s very much like him! I think he’s had a few crushes or at least made eyes at a few Sheikah guys over the many, many, many years. It’s doomed to fail, obviously, and nothing he’s quite ever pursued beyond flings and espionage things.

Unfortunately he is very much a “tsundere” type for lack of a better word, so leaning into denial is very much on point for him.

"Nami. Please be careful. It is at this time of year that the terrible accidents occur. Watch your step on stairs. Avoid objects that could fall on you."

Her voice is shaky, despite her trying to keep a calm tone.

"Please... do not die..."
