Stopped by my local retro game store today & found this funky rhythm game in the back. There is zero info on it online, so I bought it, went home, & popped it into my ps1.

Game is pretty easy and I really like the red one in the middle. Not sure if her having a mental breakdown at the end of the game is normal tho.

Weathergirl: Ralsei

Okay this one was one of the harder ones but just namely based on certain lyrics (Rain or shine, i’m by your side, so why won’t you look my way, etc) i feel it fits him!! I know this is one of their more love leaning songs so some ship element could be put into it, but i like to view it as likely more early on the story, ex Ch. 1 him, where he just wants Susie and Kris to look his way and wants them to love him as their friend. Some elements of the song could also work with chapter 4’s events, with the ‘reach for what remains’ lines and such with the prophecy. Idk food for thought! Weathergirl was a harder one

Weiward Romance: Spamtenna

This was another tricky one with this being an OBVIOUS love based one but I couldn’t place a specific character… so um spamtenna is here!! This would def be earlier in the relationship/in Spamton’s bigshot era but at first I was leaning more on the Spamton side for this but it fits him and Tenna both with the lyrics so yeah that’s all I got about this

Water the Roses: Noelle

Okay i may had been considering Tenna with another spamtenna based one and asgore also crossed my mind but I realized this song can work!! Without divorce!! So yeah the og concept of the song and what it implies is (by my reading of it) a couple who broke off and now Gumi can’t get over them being gone, yada yada. BUT. This can be different! Now it gets a bit iffy with the lines like ‘when i bloom it won’t be for you’ BUT. BUT. Number one it doesn’t have to be Suselle (my multishipper is sneaking in), can fit with weird route Kriselle as well, but WITH Suselle, or normal route Kriselle (or all three i forget their poly name) that line can be specifically for her mom me thinks! The rest of the song can be about her yearning for the loves that she can’t tell is reciprocated from the other, and the more hateful lines can be directed to Carol (or whoever else depending on future chapter stuff idk)!! This is another iffy one but I think this could make a baller animatic

Static: Tenna (hm: ralsei)

Okay yes we already had spamtenna but i GOTTA,, You all know the reasoning already this song fits him PERFECTLY, with him at first in the first two verses being cheerful and joyful as he attempts to convince the Lightners to keep watching him and to (in kris, susie, and ralsei’s case) keep playing games with him. He displays the distress and cruelty of the outside world (the world you know always running to and fro, a frightful place to be; likely him using some reasoning about it from the divorce) to convince them to stay in joy and hand and hand with him. And slowly in the end of the song he delves into (in context of ch 3, anger and being desperate) sadness and trying to at least convince them not to leave him alone. It honestly fits like a glove so well and even with Static no longer being my favorite FF song i always get a wave of nostalgia with it and could go on for hours about it!!

(ralsei is an HM because i always like to pair static and spoken for with tenna & ralsei, and spamton & kris!! plus it fits him well as well but not as well as tenna considering he is quite literally a tv show host loool but ral was worth mentioning!!)

Spoken For: Kris (hm: spamton)

This is another one that you pretty much know the reasoning already since i saw a good amount of Spoken for kris animatics after it came out BUT regardless im gonna do what I did for static and break down my view of it as well… Instead of the og view of this song which is Teto being crushed under popularity, in Kris’s view, it’s them trying to hold up with not even being able to do their own actions in their own body. Some lyrics could even be taken as the Player/soul saying them (ex. My fans adore me, only way to fuck it up is to be boring <- that could be the soul either saying that to kris or it saying it itself). But the combined emotion of rage and anguish and the low parts with them just trying to take a moment to breathe are all so accurate to kris. And even the own name of the SONG is relevant with Kris unable to speak on their own and can only say what the soul intends them to say (in most cases). And the whole interlude with the ‘i could be a friend or i could be a foe, etc’ is so accurate to the soul deciding all their actions. The ‘friend’ is the intended pacifist route, the ‘foe’ being the weird/snowgrave route, etc. Even the line of ‘i could be a woman, i could be a man’ is a callback to their own gender identity and while we know no one misgenders or judges them ingame, this could go as far as how some people don’t perceive them as nonbinary outside of the game. Some 4th wall shit there but idk i’m spewing thoughts. This whole song just like so deeply makes me understand kris and their struggles because of how much I myself relate to this song. If i say more i think i might explode but yeah you get the point

(spamton is also an honorable mention because one of my faaav dr animatics comes from a spoken for animatic of him (by digital butter (gizmo)) where it takes a more literal approach to the song!! Aka is more accurate to the source meaning of it, where he practically drowns under popularity and the bridge can be him delving into chaos with the phone call and shadow crystal.)

Human: Ralsei

Okay guys you can shoot me for doing two ralsei ones but weathergirl was a more looser connection, human is like spot on with him

With the way Darkner’s “aren’t real” relating them to the theme of robots wanting to be real is a pretty close and accurate comparison. The lines like ‘power on’ can be related to the dark fountains being made that make them real. The way SF-A2 Miku learns over the course of the song that she can be real, even if she’s not biologically “human” (in dr’s case this would relate to a lightner in general) is so closely related to the way Ralsei learns over the course of the 4 chapters we have now that he can still feel real things and that he truely can be Kris and Susie’s friends. Gonna point out some specific lines that I like… “To play pretend until the ending calls” shows how he knows how the prophecy ends and he has to keep up believing that they could change it, even if its in vain. “Reaper sir, don’t you take me yet when these stars fill my head” can relate to either the Knight fight or the Titan fight where it truely seems like they could die but then they all push through to the other side of the battle. Auauughh i didn’t have him in mind before this but the moment I thought about it it’s PERFECT for him

Ego Renegade Boy: Susie (hm: noelle & kris)

Guys hear me out,,, this is a heavy vibes thing and also me changing some meaning from the og song!! Number one just Len’s whole personality throughout the song reminds me of susie, and the way she would ‘kill her past self’ is becoming a better person throughout their journey. Just based on her reputation, people would take it as if she would never change, and so less of the lyrics make sense where they talk about the whole “im sorry for your loss” and crap but the rest of the song works well… The “did you know her, did you know that heavy heart” makes sense in the way that she was (and still is) just a kid. She would cry alone because she could never make true friends or connections. Again this is a more loose one where you gotta trust me but i think it works

(Hms are based on the fact that I like the trans noelle headcannons and Kris I feel is just them maybe after the story is said and done or when the soul is gone and finally being themself and people act like their old self was killed, or just based on the fact that they killed their old birth gender self idk! Worth mentioning they could fit)

Vibes.. I think its a possibility they would’ve liked to paint as well before the soul but either way the form of paint and art in this song could be a metaphor for their piano playing! But mainly just the “damnit i’m real and i have my dreams” is very them to me… Also “god i want for nothing but identity”

Rot for Clout: Susie

I recorded Cardiac Contrepoint onto a cassette tape!! Currently my first successful attempt at a tape recording!!
