“I want the temple fully secured immediately. We have never had a breach and we will not have one now.”

“Should any outsiders need shelter from what’s certainly going to be a storm, we will welcome them. No matter if they share our beliefs or not.”

“The emergency generators are ready to go should they be needed.”

“I was getting bored anyway, time to go hunting..”

“I have what you requested my lord.” Holding out what looked to be a sword in a scabbard.

Taking the scabbard and attaching it to his belt. “I had hoped I wouldn’t need to use this however I swore an oath as a council member to do everything in my power to protect this city and it’s people.”

“Layla, and Beatrix will patrol the area around the temple. Tybalt, Jaecar, and Dimia will handle the needs of our people, and those who require shelter.”

“Ajax, and Auburn will accompany me. I have a council meeting to attend to..and a threat to my people needs to be dealt with..”

“What you’re now standing outside of is the lost city of Hamun. As you can see, only half of it is accessible due to the other half still being buried in the sand. Hamun was thought to be a myth until fairly recently when artifacts from it were discovered in the area.”

Turning and pointing to the large pyramid in the distance “When researchers were making their way through the pyramid, a secret chamber was discovered that contained artifacts from Hamun. It was theorized that the city was close by, it wouldn’t be long before it was discovered. Partially due to a massive sandstorm that uncovered part of it. King Abasi himself manipulated much of the sand to clear out part of the city.”

“The reason he hasn’t completely uncovered it is due to the risk of destroying what may be buried deep down. We have to be extremely careful, Hamun is a fascinating part of Calere’s history.”

“You should feel honored, you’re some of the first outsiders to be able to witness the city up close.” Motioning for the group to follow him down one of the city “streets”. “As you can see, most of the buildings remain in good condition. What we’re standing in right now is thought to be a marketplace. Several tools, and weapons were found in some of the buildings. That one..” pointing to the right. “Even has the remnants of a forge. Likely a blacksmith. We’ve even found a few coins.” One of the archeologists motioned to a table with coins and trinkets on it.

"I assume you're here to inquire about the Calere expedition. Please fill out the forms on the table. Once you've finished, head that way." Pointing down a path before walking over to deal with the next group.

Merek himself was waiting in his usual meditation spot, surrounded by nature.

“I imagine he’s gonna make some grand announcement soon, either that or I’m gonna have to listen you babble on about it.”

“I’m surprised you aren’t a little more excited. Hallows Day is coming up, that basically means Lord Merek is THE major presence in the city for an entire month.”

“That deal we made never quite sat well with me.”

“It’s a beneficial arrangement. We’re left alone for the entire month, so long as we stay out of the picture at the end of the year and they have their turn.”

“Besides, our month is far more exciting. Some of the city is already beginning to decorate.”

“The festival is about more than ridiculous decorations, and people going door to door for candy.”

“This is why nobody invites you to their Hallows Day parties. You’re the kind of person that hands out bags of candy corn to the children..”
