What does Grandfather think of Faust?
Not much in his geriatric form, but if he somehow becomes Grandfather again, he's in denial that someone like Faust would be with Father/Ben. He'll ask her how much he's paying her to keep up the facade that they're together. When it finally sinks in that this isn't a ruse and the two are a genuine item, Grandfather would start berating Father for going with a "hero," stating he, of course, couldn't land himself someone evil.
Father is still brow beaten by his father so no matter how much he tries to defend himself about who he has as a partner, it falls on deaf ears. Faust doesn't take kindly to this and Father can see it, but begs her not to do anything rash. She tries hard to do as asked until Grandfather makes Father flinch by raising a hand while berating him.
The temperature drops slowly, like a boiling frog situation, until Grandfather stops mid-rant and comments on it while rubbing his upper arms. Above him, he realizes a large icicle had formed and was aimed directly at him that dropped right where he would have been standing if he hadn't dodged it. A dome of ice falls over him, like someone trapping a spider to be put outside, and snow begins to fall inside it, all while the temperature keeps falling.
Faust just nonchalantly messes with her nails as Grandfather tries fighting to get out, finding his aging ability useless since any damage he did only thickened the ice more, and Father is low-key panicking because it's clear that Pappy is struggling. Father quietly asks her if she plans on stopping before it's too late and she coldly tells him no, but will if he wants it to appear as if he has some sort of control over the situation since Grandfather already asked if she "wore the pants in the relationship." It's his call, but she's not going to sit back and listen to Father get torn to shreds by someone who is past his prime.
Father waits until Grandfather stops demanding for him to say something, allowing it to go on until the old man is close to death before firmly telling Faust to stop, loud enough for Grandfather to hear him and everything stops. The dome cracks and falls apart and a warmth engulfs the area, melting the snow and ice.
Father, feeling more in control now, tells Grandfather that if he didn't make Faust fall for him first, he would have been the one fighting for his life on sight. Faust may not seem evil for going after adult villains, but she is evil in her own right since she'll target innocent adults, too. She just has a soft spot for kids... and him now. Faust chimes in about how much of an "evil bastard" Father still is for making her feel something for him the way he did, toying with her emotions for his own sick plans. The trap she just used on Grandfather was planned for Father at the start but she never got a chance to use it until now and if she had used it before, there was barely anyone around who would have convinced her to stop.
Grandfather, after a moment of what seems like realization, starts laughing and seems to accept Faust for what she is before asking her why she would choose a coward like his son over someone truly worthy of her attention? She flat out threatens to send him back to the retirement home in an ice cube and make sure the air conditioning in his room is below zero with blankets absent if he doesn't stop insulting Ben, which only makes him laugh again. The air does get a bit warmer than usual, implying that Father is attempting to keep her from icing Pappy on the spot.
She may not like him, but it's not stopping Grandfather from bragging about how much better a daughter-in-law she'd be to anyone who would listen, unlike Monty's "good girl" of a wife. Father is thrilled about this, since he does get tepid praise from it, something he'll do anything for when it comes to his father. He just ignores the comments Grandfather makes about disowning him while forcibly adopting her if they ever split up for good since he wants ONE evil child who doesn't resort to boot licking.
Faust is threatening to drag Father to therapy if he doesn't grow a backbone with Grandfather, but might drag him there anyway if he does.
