To make up for working around the clock and not getting a #JacketJanuary #ootd up yesterday, I'm wearing the same top and bottom today and showing how to wear it differently with 2 different jackets! . This one is up first: . Camel #TrenchCoat that serves as a chic #coatdress. I love trenches because they're like #wrapdresses with awesome pockets! 😜 . Usually, I stay away from browns because it's easy to wash myself out. My skin tone changes, so I alter between super light and then tanning really easily. My undertone is not so much yellow as it is olive, but a lot of brown fabrics can look really warm and earthy on some people, and then I'll put it on and look like I'm pale or sick. 🙃 . I mean, I just recovered from 3 days of salmonella and I think I look pretty fly, so this color has got to be a flattering pick, right?? 🤣🙈 . . They did a really good job with picking a neutralized tan/camel/sand/buff color for this #coat. It's 🔥 . . 👉👉👉 Fashion and style isn't so much what you can afford to wear or what's trendy--it's how you wear it. YOU wear the clothes, the clothes don't wear you. Not all styles or fabrics are flattering on everybody, so the trick is to find key pieces you love that are versatile and work with YOUR natural skin tone. . . #WOCstyle #WOCfashion #fashiontips #JackyJacketJanuary #JackySoStyle . . . FIRST: Shout-out to my awesome @fulbags #techbackpack! 👉👉👉 It got me through grad school and it's made the transition into #SFliving so much easier. I have a 2nd one that's going to be my "grab and go" emergency backpack. . 👇NOW, ABOUT MY #OOTD! 👇😀 It's an adaptable forest green color made of luxe fabric (I'm a BIG fabric person), so even though I'm wearing my retainer, a backpack (last pic), & an exercise headband bc my forehead is breaking out...the coat transitions my vibe into pulled together. . It elevates this easy-to-wear #suededress (shift dress with tie to cinch at the waist). And it even looks cute buttoned up! Today's #ootn #JacketJanuary ft. #redcoat. It's an easy peasy Sunday, relaxing after full social activities Fri + Sat! 👩‍💻 I'm getting through the CSS projects I didn't get to do yesterday and threw on this #fauxfurcollar for a little #jacket flair. 💁 . The collar is actually a removable one from this sweater dress I bought for @lavieenprose a couple of years ago, but she didn't wanna use it bc the fur stuff is totally not her style. I think she was gonna toss it, and I said to just give it to me bc then I'd use it! Haha so there are actually little loops on this collar, and I think there were buttons on the original dress that held it in place. ✌️ . . And this red coat is one that could be worn alternatively as a dress (it looks really cute as a dress). I love coats because you could be wearing whatever underneath, throw a coat on, and it can totally transform your look. It's really just adding another dimension so you look more pulled together. . . Here's to hoping the headband helps me stop touching my forehead as much! My baby hairs are all over the place, and they can get irritating sometimes. 🙃 . . . So overall, my #ootd is casual, playful, and comfy--perfect for energy recouping after a packed wknd! 😀 . . . . . P.S. 📸@astronomer_ryan We only took 3 photos. I asked to see what they looked like so I could make sure you could see enough of the outfit, esp at night. I looked and was like, "Yeah, I'm good with those. Are you?" We had dinner, drinks, and late-night chats until 3 AM! 🙈 I mean, we transitioned from rooftop to our little studio chats bc it was chilly out there, but I'm not gonna post pics of our studio when we are still living out of boxes, so plz enjoy the #SFnightscape from our community area! . I didn't post a #JacketJanuary pic bc we were sooo in the moment, and that's when you know it's such a great time! ❤️ So grateful to have friends who you feel so comfortable chatting with until you realize the hours flew by! Ryan and I went to bed at... probably like 4 or 5 am. 😜 #itstheweekend #rooftopnights . . . P.S. Still nice that you can enjoy just sitting outside during the winter. If we were back in Minneapolis, there's NO WAY we'd be able to enjoy being outside like this during this season! ❤️🌈 . . . P.P.S. Last night's #ootd was super comfy bc we decided to "have friends in." I haven't worn my #fuzzycoat with pockets and hood (that's actually a bathrobe 😜) for Jacket January yet, so maybe the REAL challenge is not wearing it every day bc it's so comfy! 😂 . . And these pants were originally high waisted, but I snapped the waistband and they became loose and sat at my hips, which gave them a new relaxed look that I love! 🙌🙌 (at South of Market, San Francisco)
