That theory that Rose DeWitt Bukater was having a fit of psychosis that made Jack Dawson appear is ridiculous, in my opinion. But what if he was a guardian angel?

He first appears when Rose needs him most: before she’s about to commit suicide and feels hopeless. Reminder that guardian angels are sent to protect humans.

In fact, he shows up every single time Rose needs him, almost like a sixth sense, right? He gives her a passionate speech in the gymnasium of why she must break free because it’s literally his duty to save her life.

When she meets him at the bow he takes her “flying” and her white shawl flowing out symbolizes wings.

Then Jack begins falling in love with the human he’s been sent to protect. He cares for her so much that he *immortalizes* her in a beautiful drawing.

When they run through the boiler room it could be like Rose escaping the hell she’s been living, or maybe the light at the end of the tunnel.

Godly/angelic figures are sometimes shown to transport people in a chariot, and Jack takes Rose “to the stars”, (like the heavens) when they make the sex.

Notice how nervous Jack appears afterwards and how shaken up he is. Maybe he already knows his time with Rose is running out because his mission as a guardian angel was almost complete?

He keeps Rose safe all throughout the sinking and in fact, is always bringing her up, when they’re traveling through the ship, they’re consistently moving upwards (like to the sky).

When Rose let’s Jack go, he doesn’t really die. His job on Earth is done and he’s forced to leave Rose.

If he was an angel the whole time it would explain why he had no family or real backstory about his life. It would explain why there was never any record of him to be found anywhere. Even if he wasn’t in the Titanic records, the name Jack Dawson would be on record SOMEWHERE, whether it was on a birth certificate or a census, or even a family tree to be traced.

He was never a human with an earthly life, so he didn’t appear on human records.

By fulfilling the dreams Jack put in her head, such as the Santa Monica pier and becoming an actress, Rose fulfills her life on Earth and is able to return to heaven where Jack, her guardian angel, is waiting to greet her.

Oh, and the clock behind him? It’s stopped at 2:20 AM, the exact time the Titanic sank.
