Random headcanons for every Disclosure Day character
Idk what picture to add. Witness Noah aurafarming.
Jane - She's an orphan and was raised at the monastery. She is bisexual and came out to one of the older nuns when she was 13. It didn't go well and Jane was told she's going to hell for being gay and should either find a man or serve god as a nun (or burn in hell!!!). When Noah entered her mind she genuienly though Satan himself came for her because she one time held hands with other girl. Sister Maura is an ally and would always accept her, but not every religious person is like that. Jane probably self harms a lot. And she deserves the best in her life.
Daniel - His favorite book is House of Leaves. His contact with aliens left him selectively mute till the age of 15. Also it made him the weird guy among his classmates. Dan's hobby is wildlife photography(he has no equipment, he just goes around and takes photos of animals in nature). His therapist suggested the theory that Daniel experienced a house invasion and almost got kidnapped. So his brain came up with a defensive mechanism fairytale. In the movie timeline he is a sleepwalker.
Jackson - His bond with Margaret is very...specific. He met her at his lowest point - kicked out from the house and with ketamine addictiom. They met at a local hospital: Margaret was there because she broke her wrist from slipping on the black ice. She was trying to call an ambulance for a homeless man, that was dying on the street in front of people celebrating Christmas and slipped, breaking both her phone and her wrist.
Jackson was there because he had an overdose and was dying in the snow from hypothermia.
He was that homeless man.
The winter is a bittersweet season for them, near death experience and a start of love story. Jackson still has insecurities over his music, feeling like drugs were "the spark" in his art, and he himself is worthless and boring. But in the movie timeline he holds better than Margaret. He also tried to make his own "very special alien meme coin" and failed miserably, having to sell his laptop.
Margaret - T-T-TRAUMA BOND!! ⚡️⚡️ She had to take care of both of her parents: Dad's Parkinson's and Mom's grief with undiagnosed depression. So she takes the same role with Jackson, despite him absolutely not returning the same level of care for her. She graduated a fashion university, but the moment she got offers from brands - she quit her career. Her therapist, that she went to in adulthood suggested, that her alien abduction memory was a form of escapism. Coming up with a fairytale about the aliens would be something that a child would do to escape the traumatic reality. His favorite movie is Paprika.
Sister Maura - Maura is her chosen name, she named herself that to honor Sister Maura Clarke as her fate and her story deeply moved her. She had worked for Interpol in her past, but lost her faith in justice on Earth, as she witnessed Wardex bribing Interpol to let their "useful" criminal go. So she decided to serve humanity somewhere where bribes, corruption and lie won't take place. Sister Maura never told Jane about her past, but one time she scared away the burglar with a gunshot to the air. She's not a violent woman, but would go for the throat to save those under her protection.
Noah - He considers himself agnostic. His treatment of alien lifeform is driven by fear, aka "we should attack first to protect ourselves". He's the type to pull a flamethrower at a big spider in his house. He has no faith in humanity and views it as even more dangerous being than the aliens. Noah is near-sighted judging by the shape of his glasses and has a metal knee joint. I have this little hc I love a lot: He let Margaret and Daniel win because he wanted humanity to destroy itself upon all that information.
Boyd - learned to emotionally detach himself from traumatic events due to military background and never fully went back to civilian life. Knows 103 ways to kill a whistleblower and 30 torture methods. Really wants to save the world because he has a war-related ptsd and survivor's guilt. Yaoi or not, he idolizes Noah a lot.
