”Hi, Jack-kun…” [Danny says, giving an awkward smile.] “I heard you were sick, so I um…I thought I would pay a visit.”

[They take out the contents of the bag, placing them on the table nearby.] “I brought some soup, since I thought it would help. And, uh…I asked Clover-senpai to help me make a pear cobbler. Yeah. If you want it.”

Jack jolts awake, jerking upright from where he'd been dozing off. He blinks once, then twice more, trying to get ahold of his bearings.

His gaze lands onto his visitor. A freshmen, he realizes after a brief once-over. He remembered seeing those familiar ears at orientation, but beyond that his mind runs blank.

Still, he shifts farther up against the pillows, straightening himself as much as his body allowed him to.

"Thank you..." Jack trails off, brow furrowing as searches for a name. "... Danny?"

Even to him, his words come out painfully stilted.

“The hell…” Jack bristles at the strange sensation, shifting his body to face whoever had the audacity to treat him like their own personal armchair.

“Leona-senpai!?”

At the sight of his housewarden, Jack jolts in place— no doubt an uncomfortable feeling for the beast lying on his back. He didn’t want to write it off a completely out of character; his housewarden was notoriously hard to read. Even so, this was strange, even by his standards.

*Ace sighed as he entered the infirmary, a fond yet concerned look in his eyes. He picked up a chair and placed it next to Jack's bed before he sat down.*

"How are you feeling?"

"Just peachy," Jack drawls, the sound more hoarse than anything. "And it wasn't my fault."

Truthfully, he still felt like a pile of flaming elephant dung. Not as bad as before, though. Back when they'd hauled him in from the Botanical Garden half-conscious, he could barely keep his eyes open. The fever had gone down a fair bit since then..
