The Shining

I decided I wanted something fitting for October, so I picked this up from my local library.
I've never read it before, but I have seen the film and class it as a masterpiece of cinema.
Now I know there are some glaring differences in Stanley Kubrick's adaptation, ones that King was not all too happy about. Yet it has been so long since I've seen the film I doubt they'll be ones I notice.
I've read a lot of King and definitely consider myself a fan (Dark Tower, The Green Mile, Different Seasons and plenty of short story collections) but none that have actually scared me...maybe this one finally will.

Inktober Day 29 - The Axe Scene from The Shining. 31 days, 31 horror icons. Okay, a few things. First, yes. I am counting a movie scene as a horror icon because, even if you haven’t seen this movie, you know this scene. Second, it was originally going to be Melissa on the other side of the door, but when the idea of Midge saying, “Little guinea pigs. Little guinea pigs. Let me come in!” entered my mind I had to switch it to Jihn. Third, this is my favorite Inktober drawing so far, and I had a ton of fun drawing it. #Halloween #Inktober2021
