  the neighbourhood - sweater weather

         fingers are frosty from the permeating chill of the weather;            outside it pours - drops trickle over the top of the awning           protecting the two youths from the incoming rain. they           stick close to ward off the cold pricking at their skin.                        and if I may just take your breath away          they find that their faces are pressed close and warm breath          only draws them closer.                             i don’t mind if there’s not much to say          she couldn’t remember what they’d been talking about only          seconds before. only that words had trickled into silence.          all she knows that it wasn’t pleasant. then it had begun to rain.                                 sometimes the silence guides our minds              they hadn’t known what to do. jinx’s mind and lips were              often laced with the poison of the future.  but, she can’t              resist this moment. her head tilts and leans– and for once troubles              are silenced.
