omg annie please don’t even get me started on these two i love them so damn much

grantaire has this full length tattoo that starts at his wrist and goes all the way up his arm that he did a lot of himself and it starts off with the solar system and all the planets on his forearm and as it goes past his elbow it turns into the galaxy and when it reaches his shoulder theres a portrait of michelangelo’s creation of adam that stretches past his shoulderblade and a lot of the art he did himself but for each planet/stars/moons he gets each of the amis to design it for him enjolras designs the sun

nobody except grantaire knows about the tattoo on enjolras’ ankle that says “liberte” and grantaire only knows because he did it for him one night and he was so nervous that he used red ink instead of black but enjolras loves it even more because of that

grantaire also paints a lot and one day he runs into one of the amis meetings half-way through all out of breath and panting because he ran there and he’s got paint smeared across his cheek and throughout his hair and all over his hands and combeferre has to catch enjolras when he almost trips over the chair in front of him grantaire proceeds to make an icarus joke because hes a NERD about how he should be the one falling for a god

grantaire makes  lot of self-depricating jokes about how he’s the least important member of the amis and enjolras usually laughs them off with the rest of their friends but he catches jehan giving R worried looks and notices the way R’s smile doesn’t reach his eyes and he sits him down once everybody else has gone and tells him he values everything he does even the arguing because it makes his points stronger and it makes him better and when grantaire tries to reach for the bottle of wine on the table and shrugs it off enjolras grabs his hand and tells him he means it and smiles at him and grantaire fucking melts

when they actually get together they’re the most digustingly affectionate couple but not in “omg lets make out on every surface in front of our friends” kind of way, more in the fact that they don’t ever let go of each other, grantaire’s hand is always on enjolras’ thigh when they sit together and when they walk past each other they have to run their fingers lightly across a body part which makes everybody gag, enjolras has his hand buried in grantaire’s hair as he gives a speech to the rest of them and even when they turn and start arguing theY’RE STILL HOLDING HANDS HOW ARE THEY STILL HOLDING HANDS??

enjolras gets hired for this job and they have an office party and he brings grantaire and they’re huddled in conversation until some dudebro comes over like “hey man is this your friend” and enjolras shakes his head and is like “boyfriend” and the dudebro gets all like “dude you never said you were gay!!!!” and enjolras launches into this 5 minute rant about how heterosexuality isn’t a default setting and the fact he makes assumptions isn’t his fault to which the guy apologizes and shakes R’s hand

enjolras knows exactly what grantaire needs when he slips into one of his depression ruts and he just cuddles him and watches disney movies with him until he feels like he’s not dissociating and he just takes care of him
