J.K. Rowling is most likely transphobic, to a degree.
And it's breaking my heart.
If you've seen my other posts, you know I'm one of her most vocal defenders. But there's no getting around the stance she chose to take on this.
I understand if she wants to argue that it wasn't a fire-able offense, that's a debate that can be had...but it sounds like she doesn't disagree with the notion of two unchangeable sexes.
Joanne, if by some chance you see this, please educate yourself. I believe this is coming from a place of ignorance, not bigotry. But it's your responsibility to learn and grow, and to be better. For the most part, your politics are fantastic. Don't be on the wrong side of history for this.
You can do better. Harry taught us that no one deserves to live in a closet. You created him, and the wide, wonderful world he comes from. You have more imagination than most people. So open your mind a little.
