Nick Frost seems to know exactly what kind of boots he is stepping into. Frost, who will take on the role in HBO’s new “Harry Potter” series, recently spoke about the challenge of stepping into one of the most beloved parts of the original films. Frost told The Times that he wants to respect what Coltrane brought to Hagrid while also building a version of the character that fits a longer television adaptation.

New details from HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series have surfaced from Licensing Expo 2026, and one design note is especially interesting: Quidditch players may not be sitting upright on their broomsticks the way we saw in the films.

According to signage at the display, HBO’s version of Quidditch has players lying horizontally across their broomsticks, with their legs bent backward and interlocked around each other.

HBO is not waiting for the Hogwarts Express to leave the station before planning its next trip. According to Deadline, the upcoming Harry Potter television series has officially been renewed for a second season, with production expected to begin this fall. The news comes before Season 1, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, has even premiered, with the first season currently set to debut around Christmas.

Lox Pratt is already making a name for himself by playing some of the most memorable villains in literature. The young actor stars as Jack in Netflix’s new adaptation of William Golding’s “Lord of the Flies,” and, as we know, he’s currently filming the role of Draco Malfoy in HBO’s “Harry Potter” series. In a recent interview with Variety, Pratt opened up about both roles and what draws him to playing the villain.

The Cornwall-born actor told Variety he originally auditioned for Ralph, the moral center of “Lord of the Flies,” after hearing about the project through a friend of his mother’s. Instead, casting director Nina Gold’s team called him back for Jack, and Pratt said he felt immediately drawn to the character’s complexity. “They made me read for a lot of people, but Jack was the one that I was most compelled to, because he was so different to me,” he told Variety.
