tea orange: what is something that your muse is fascinated with?

if anybody asks, he will say oh, i was one of the lucky ones. he’ll smile and look down at his hands, charred and ineffectual under dressing. the only upside? well, the nerves in his hands are just about destroyed, so at least he can’t feel a thing. always the optimist, johnny bennett is. yesterday, they told him his arm might need a skin graft. the raw, wet looking flesh travels just above his right elbow---he can’t remember exactly what caused this, but he does remember the deafening crash of the staircase. he remembers the sensation of heat so strong that it somehow felt freezing as ice and sharp as a knife---and he remembers grabbing that holly girl and hoping that god really would him for all of his trespasses. 

if hell is anything like that, johnny will be heading down to the church as soon as he gets out of the hospital.
