J.E.M. feat Balistik "Ma Weed" (Remix)
J.E.M. hailing out of New Zealand/Australia, teams with SK’s very own Balistik on a remix to a track entitled “Ma Weed”. The vibe, feel, sounds, and speed of the beat is very smooth & laid back. The lyrical execution is precie. The voice tones of each artist, are eerily close to two greats. One living, and one who unfortunately passed. 2 Pac and Nas. In a very organic and non-gimmicky way, you hear the influence/inspiration. It’s almost a peak into what them two may have sounded like on a record, together. For those who are fans of or remember them in the 90’s, it takes you away for a second. Having said all of that, the artist J.E.M. and Balistk, are very much their own individuals. The track “Ma Weed”, is an ode to all the smokers and those who indulge in Marijuana culture (casually or heavily). Great track, that will surely bang in many cars this summer.
J.E.M. feat Balistik “Ma Weed” (Remix) was originally published on Street Khemistry - Hip Hop's Secret Formula.

Rough Luxe: A Contemporary Study in Interiors
The gilded age of interior design has ended. Shabby chic is over. From runway fashion to interior decoration, designers are searching for authentic reflections of individual style. If true contemporary or strict antique doesn't seem to capture your lifestyle or your attitude, Rough Luxe, described by The Wall Street Journal Magazine as a "study in contradictions, an attempt to reconcile the antique or the just plain old with the contemporary," is the concept for you! In this three session course, you'll explore the evolution of this decorating style, learn the criteria for creating this look (texture, form, scale...and the story behind the elements) and visit J.E.M's South End showroom for inspiration.
Wednesday 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm; Saturday 11:00 am - 2:00 pm; 3 sessions starting September 28, 2011, ending October 5, 2011
