This was amazing! I cried from both happiness and sadness. The crowd was electric and the performances superb. The music and the story were faithful to the original that I love but it also was unique and surprising and definitely its own show. I have lots of meta thoughts but I'll save it for a spoiler-y post. I'm so glad I just said "shut up and take my money" as it was so worth it!

Look. It was powerful shit. You donāt have to agree with the Doctor to love them. And fuck yeah, it was pretty angst.
@hideandsqueek Itās not even that they disagreed with any of the things I love about the episode. They also loved the dialogue between Ten and Lindsay Duncan, and the Time Lord Victorious (if they had any complaint, it was that he came to his senses too quickly, which i think we all said back then. We wanted a full episode of dark!Ten). They just complained about things that I didnāt remember, like poor development of some of ancillary characters, repetitive shots of the water getting in to the base, bad acting by the dude who controlled the robot, or the queerbaity-ish thing Doctor Who did all the time back then where they overtly mentioned a gay relationship off screen and acted like that was representation. All true. I just have tunnel vision when it comes toĀ āThe Waters of Marsā. :)

The good old days of Ten angst. He really did it so well. And yeah, a lot of their criticisms are valid, but when listening to their podcast I canāt help but transport back to the mindset I had in 2006-2010 when watching each episode as it aired and feel like they just donāt get it. Iām very protective of dumpster fire Ten.

One of his first victims is the little old woman who runs the daycare, her facility had so many kids she didn't know what to do, and had difficulty keeping up with code requirements. Alice works at the local not-for-profit fighting the gentrification of HH. LT hires 3 Hogs Construction to rebuild HH after Lupus Demo razes the neighborhood.

I'm curious, what's your thinking on Henry's LI knowing that she's Lucy's mom? I like the idea of coming at it from a different direction like that.
I actually thought this was what everyone assumed but I guess not? So my thinking goes that Lucy lives in Hyperion Heights with her mom who is a cop. She gets Storybook 2.0 and realizes that Henry is her dad and that things are not right so she goes to him and he has to bring her back to her mom. Which doesnāt go great because Mom thinks Henry is a shady guy based on his motorcycling and his parking tickets (maybe?).
Ā But now that I type it out that is kind of a redux of Emma and Regina S1 (which is probably why I assumed it). Although If Henry knows who he is (which is what I want) and Mom doesnāt know who she is then it kind of flips it a little bit. Also thatās a lot of angst if Henry is in love with Mom and she doesnāt even know who he is and it might be difficult to convey that to the audience up front. Course if Henry doesnāt remember (lame) we would have the benefit of him meeting Lucy and then meeting Mom and being all doey eyed over this woman who might be the mother of his kid.Ā
I actually really like your idea of Lucy ending up in he system and Regina being her case worker. But that would mean Lucy would be coming from a place of not having any family?Ā Of course we could go the route of Lucy knowing the truth and her having memories of Henry and Mom raising her and of Regina, Hook, and Rumple.Ā

Interesting idea, torturous, but fascinating. If you go by that criteria Iām interesting in seeing if any of the mains are more often a supporting player in the flashback.
I decided against breaking it down that finely -- though it would be interesting to do so, I was just after a broad strokes idea of where the focus lands most often. I did find it interesting that they fall into such distinct tiers.
