Anyway. I might go and check out the following dramas. HAHA. Tell me whatcha think of them, and if I should watch something that is not on this list. :)
1. Zenkai Girl.
Initially, because I saw that Aragaki Yui and Nishikido Ryo stars in this. I mean, I love Gakky. And almost ALL the dramas that Ryo appears in proves to be worth watching for me. Anyhow, aside from this, reading the synopsis.. well. It seems like those feel-good drama things. So. To combat stress brought on by school, WHY NOT? [Started: 7/11/11]
2. Hi wa Mata Noboru.
It's a police drama, in a way.. I guess. So that's a plus. Then there's Miura Haruma so that's awesome. Then there's also Narimiya Hiroki. LOL. I LOVE it when those two work together. hahahaha. In Akibahara@Deep and Bloody Monday I and II. LOL. Then, it's one of those feel-good storylines too. And, this might be the Miura Haruma's first.. "negative" role.. maaah, you know what I mean. hahaha. So, let's go see this!
3. Meitantei Conan.
Come on. Who hasn't heard of Detective Conan? hahaha. yes, it should be obvious by now that I like police dramas. hahahaa. Anyway, Mizobata Junpei stars here! He's one of those actors I wanna see evolve into great ones. So.. him in the leading role this time might be worth watching. I liked him in Hana Kimi, BOSS, Buzzer Beat, and Seito Shokun! Maybe I'll like him as Conan too. (But before that, I have to watch the 3rd special starting him as well. lol. Heard it was released around April 2011. :P)
4. Ikemen desu ne
Hmm. I dunno. I saw Minami Shineyo. I liked it, but I thought it was too... shallow. Maybe with a Japanese rendition it will be deeper? I mean, Jdoramas are often less shallower than Kdramas anyway. So. Maybe. I'll take a chance. Hn. Cast-wise. Well, there are Johnnys present. So. Maybe, let's see. Yaotome Hikaru was pretty good in Orthros no Inu. So. Let's see.
5. Jiu
Series about investigators! Which means, this is of the mystery genre!! :D :D :D Plus, Kuroki Meisa + Tabe Mikako. That would be an interesting pair, wouldn't it? And I think Shirota Yu is on this one too. I never really liked him, but he's "okay." hahaha XD
6. Ouran High School Host Club.
Need I say more? HAHAHA. I'm sorta familiar with most of the cast. BUT. Ryusei Ryo as NEKOZAWA? WHAT? hahahaha. That will be interesting. XD
7. Tempest
A jidaigeki in 10eps? That's unusual. Plus, it's a gender bender starring Nakama Yukie. So. Let's try. haha.
8. Hana Kimi.
A remake not even 5 years later? Weird. >.< But, that akb48 girl in Q10 stars as Ashiya. Hmm. Let's see. (I probably won't go through with this though. So why is this even on this list? LOL)
So. A list of 8 dramas. I probably won't watch all. Considering I'm currently busy with school work (4th year college, thesis and all..) also I'm kinda watching/catching-up with some Kdramas. LOL. But we'll see. Maybe. Just maybe. :}

Haken no Hinkaku 2
Starring: Shinohara Ryoko, Koizumi Kotaro
Rumours are this series was given the reboot because Yonekura Ryoko no longer wants to make endless brainless Doctor X series. Unfortunately, some things are better enshrined in memory. The original series was a commentary on what had been a fairly new trend of casual workers in the Japanese workplace, and the difficulties and prejudices they faced if they wanted to do more. Apparently the landscape of the Japanese workplace has changed these days, and the casual workpool purportedly face less of these issues these days (feel free to correct). The new series tries to work with more topical issues like inappropriate social media use or social media backlash. Like with most good things that are revisited 10 years down the track, the original is better.
BG 2
Starring: Kimura Takuya, Saitou Takumi
The original was a likeable series, although the central plotline involving one of the politicians was a bit awkward. The new series comes with a tone shift - whereas the original team operated together, the choice this time (probably due to COVID restrictions) was to split the team in half, with the main character operating out of a derelict office with just one partner. This means Saitou gets a much more central role, and his character is elevated from forgettable to endearingly frank. It continues to be a well-produced series, although seems not to have the gravity of the original, and it's disappointing that it will only get 6-7 episodes for its entire run.
MIU 404
Starring: Ayano Gou, Hoshino Gen
I didn't expect much of this series, as I'm not a huge fan of either of them (although I do respect they're fairly popular). This turns out to be the most enjoyable of the season. It's the typical hot-cold duet, with Hoshino being firmly rules-abiding and Ayano being the laid-back rule-breaker, but both of them are also endearingly human and identifiable. Their interactions are hilarious and the cases have a nice humane touch. Not sure how long the season will be but worth checking out.
Miman Keisatsu
Starring: Nakajima Kento, Hirano Sho Taking the cool level-headed vs idealistic hot-blooded trope into police academy, and starring two popular JE stars, the first episode was toothachingly dumb. Clearly the standard of the script was that the main characters shouldn't have a brain, and the second episode's preview suggests it is a series of dangerous situations that the main characters willingly put themselves into even though it is neither their place nor obligation.

Well, you can see the continuation from dorama “Boku, Unmei no Hito desu” is the anime “Seikaisuru Kado”. With 14 years age & gender differences of course. I was laughing so much at this episode after watching the last eps of Boku Unmei because of the similarity.
Do you like COMEDY (and by that I mean..parodies?)
Have you immersed yourself with Japanese drama/manga/movies lately?
If yes, then….. this one's for you!!! If not, then now's a good time to start.
Watch Otomen.
This live action series was based on the manga of the same name.
The story is rather simple. A man oozing with masculinity who hides his hobbies like baking and knitting… meets falls in love with a girl who can probably wrestle a bear and win. =)
But before that. What is an Otomen? The term otomen refers to men who aren't homosexual, but simply have the tendency to like feminine things such as baking, knitting, make-up, shojo manga, etc.
Anyway, back to the storyline. What makes the storyline interesting, is the story WITHIN a story kind of thing as one of the characters is a manga writer. XD
Another is.. THAT UBER AWESOME opening sequence!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D
Another factor is, of course, THE PARODIES!! There are countless of them, and they're nicely done too!
Some of the parodies (those that I remember anyway) include:
the English teacher (funny at first, kinda gets tiring after a while) -- you'll see when you watch it. HAHAHA. HINT: a famous and powerful worldwide celebrity/icon.
The Grudge
Crows Zero (REALLY FUNNY and accurate!!!!)
Detective Conan
Hana Kimi
Now for some REAL reviews:
Plot-wise, again.. interesting. entertaining. a few dull moments, but you forget that as soon as the next funny scene flashes.
acting-wise…. it was ok. ok, maybe lower than ok. haha.. This series falls from what I like to call "training ground series" where up-and-coming actors polish their craft.
Script-wise.. well I thought the spacing of the comedic moments were hilarious. Not to mention the scary episode featuring the grudge really scared me (ok, so maybe this review part should go to the visual effects..) BUT ANYWAY. the story is overly simple so there really isn't much to comment on about this.
So, watch it now and go meet the dense girl, the guy who can't voice his feelings, the rival, the advice-giver, the feminine-looking guy . . .
I could go on, but,. No. Just go meet them yourself. :)
I recommend this if you like any of the following series:
Hana Kimi
Yukan Club
Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge
Atashinchi no Danshi
Nodame Cantabile
PS. this drama is currently ranked #20 in my j-dorama list (making it… as of today.. 20/70) :D
