“I’m not saying you did do it, I just asked if you did.” Yuu spoke staring at the very soaked remains of photos from the ghost camera she’d developed from their time in the scalding sands. Photos she was supposed to give to Crowley for him to do who knows what with them and the multiple others she had given to him, now completely soaked in what looked to be water the liquid distorting the images leaving wide white holes in its wake. Pictures of Grim, Cater and Trey were still somewhat recognizable, but the one’s containing Jamil, Kalim and the single image she got of Malleus were beyond repair. There was also a image she’d managed to get of Jamil and his sister but that one may have not existed entirely, only a shred of both of their clothing being seen in the now ruined image. Crowley was definitely going to be annoyed by this.
“If it was just an accident it’s not like I would be mad about it, it’s just why only you, Kalim and Malleus?” She picked up one of the ruined images, pretty sure it was the one where the five were all on stage dancing. It was the only one she’d managed to get with Malleus in it, the fae prince evading her whenever she tried taking any earlier that day. “It’s like someone wanted to erase what happened, or like I did something wrong taking pictures of people from a royal lineage or who work closely with them in your case.” The liquid also has a bizarre sort of scent to it, making her wonder if it truly was just water or potentially something else? Had wax from a nearby candle possibly bled over onto the imagery? The possibility wasn’t too outlandish, especially considering everything in this school had a sort of magic to it.
“And I thought I would just ask you cause, I don’t know it seemed like you were more stressed while we were there than anyone else was. I couldn’t really even tell if you were having a good time until the fireworks went off.” Reading Jamil was complicated though, his mask holding ever strong even after the events of his blotting and Kalim’s asking him to be more open. If he hadn’t wanted to be open to the school’s prefect by no means was she going to force anything, but somewhere deep down she had still hoped to garner some kind of understanding with him.
“Look I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it to come off as I was blaming you or anyone else. I’m just trying to figure out what happened, that way when Crowley asks me I might have some kind of idea what to tell him.” She had really wanted to inquisition anyone else though, and potentially bring about bad blood or mistrust on herself. “I guess though, I just won’t worry about it and I’ll say I knocked over a candle in Ramshackle and that’s what happened. It’s not like he’ll really do anything to me anyway, aside from a scolding of course. Whatever though, he’ll get over it and be onto the next thing in an instant. Sorry again though, for making it seem as though I was blaming you.”
