Some days I sit and wonder why I am the way that I am? Why did I settle? Why did I give my all only to get 50% of what I gave back.? What was wrong with ME that I didn't get the same effort and love that I gave back? But I'm starting to see that it wasn't me. I was too busy trying to get them to live up to my expectations of what true love looked like and didn't see I was being distracted from the truth. It hurts to know that while I was trying to be everything they wanted me to be, they were never going to be who and what I wanted. I was never going to get my happily ever after.
