the first time you make chrollo laugh, truly, full body laugh, it’s a springtime sunday lunch. it was your first impromptu date, it was chrollo’s first time trying tamales. you’re eating in the park, sitting on a bench and simply watching as the people around you went about their day.
the joke you make is offhand, you don’t even realize you’ve made it, interrupting chrollo’s story. you couldn’t recall it now even if you tried. it sends chrollo. he tries to cover his laugh with his hand, turning his head away. to no avail-- the laughter bubbles up in his chest, breaking across his face.
joy is an unfamiliar emotion on chrollo’s face, so underused it highlights the softer features of his face. his eyes scrunch up, his cheeks dimple, his cheeks turn pink.

a grin breaks out across your face. leaning over, you use one hand to rest on chrollo’s cheek and keep him close while you kiss his cheek, right over the little dimple. chrollo takes a sharp breath and looks over at you eyes widening.
“you’re very handsome,” you state earnestly. “continue. you were in the catacombs?”
a variety of emotions flashes behind chrollo’s eyes. eventually, they settle on the familiar adoration. “thank you, lovely.” your heart skips a beat. he clears his throat slightly. “it was fairly nice where we were, then slowly i noticed...”
