Ivyn
He was always an aggressive pokemon. After all, he was wild.
Trying to survive on whatever he could find.
He wasn’t exactly happy, but he wasn’t unhappy either.
By pure chance, he attacked a mew without knowing. All he saw was a small creature and he was blinded by the thought of food.
He killed her.
Not too long after, he was captured by some hunters. Not caught in a pokeball.
Captured.
He woke up with a shock collar around his neck.
He killed the mew they were studying. So, he would work for them now. Any time he went out of line, there was a shock.
He eventually stopped trying.
They took the collar off.
He never tried to leave again.
He eventually began to believe the lie that he was helping them because he wanted to.
He was still trained like any other pokemon, after all. Thought he had an actual trainer. It was just his handler. The one to give him food and water on a schedule.
What was there to hate?
A lot.
Including the freak of nature they brought in about a year ago.
“Newtwo” is what they called it.
It hung around a lot. Going through surface level tests for research. Examining abilities and the like.
They could tell it wasn’t natural. It was man-made.
So maybe, they could do the same.
It took some extra research, but they made the first of their experiments.
“Subject 01” is all they called it.
A pokemon created using the DNA of “Newtwo”.
It wasn’t natural.
About a year later, they had to merge another wing with Ivyn’s
“Project Mimik”
2 freaks of nature are now under the same roof.
“Newtwo” broke the first subject out from stasis early and escaped with it.
They recaptured “Newtwo” shortly after and put…
Subject 01 is a lost asset.
So they shifted all focus into Subject 02.
A year later
It was ready to be released.
Constant monitoring of growth and stabilization of DNA with that of another pokemon was required for this to happen, but now it is.
It has the mind of a child.
It was not ready to be brought out of stasis.
They have assigned [] to monitor its development. The subject must be ready for battle 1 year from now.
Ivyn was assigned to battle it once it is ready.
The idea is to simply draw out more of its power. No harm can come of the subject.
“That thing shouldn’t even exist. Why should I have to battle it.”
“Do you not remember what you did all that time ago. Our research was set back for a long time because of you.”
My battle against it is tomorrow.
It nearly killed me.
That FREAK OF NATURE nearly killed me.
I was barely breathing once they detected that no reports had come from our wing after the battle was supposedly over.
It killed everyone there.
As I was being carried to the medical ward, I could see the halls lined with bodies.
And the outermost door was pried open.
As Ivyn recovered, he overheard that “Newtwo” was assigned to track down the missing experiment. To make up for its past failure.
Ivyn knew it didn’t have the capacity to preform such a simple task.
A year later
After months of silence from “Newtwo”, they realized it had left them, despite the… still being on her. Someone figured out how to take off and disable them.
Ivyn was assigned to track down and forcibly bring back “Newtwo” and Subject 02.
He was supplied with a tracker and a stun-gun.
Stun mode is used on the wild pokemon he comes across so there’s no time wasted to fight them. The more powerful mode is only to be used on the subjects.
He was given a mask to cover his scarred face and then sent out to find them.
He would not return empty handed.
I’m tired.
I’m tired of them.
Tired of them always breathing down my neck.
They only ever saw me as an asset. A tool. He wasn’t my trainer. Never was. He never cared about me at all. Just wanted to keep me alive.
Why did I force myself to believe that lie. That I was there willingly.
Mewt, Mimik, and Newt. I’m sorry.
I was scared of them. I was a coward.
I should’ve helped you.
To the mew I killed, I hope you’re in a a better place. I hope your kit is living a safe life.
I am never returning to them. I can’t.
I don’t deserve to be forgiven.
