see i take a lot of concepts from fanon in regards to the itww!watchers (wings, humanoid shape, so many eyes), but i also try to keep in mind that the watchers were originally a stand-in for the audience. they mostly just watched evo, with some interaction (like fan-interaction.) when grian “joined” them he was on his last leg. he didn’t want to leave, but he was so burnt out from almost 2-years of non-stop Admining. the watchers pull him in, let him see the intermingling of canon and the deeper code of the universe, but they take it too far. their influence makes Grian too afraid to do anything under their eyes. but they see him as just their silly little guy. somehow this turned into a commentary on parasocial relationships and creator burn-out help
thinking about ITWW small story tidbits and how s6-era Grian is considered like really old fashioned. man is fresh outta the void. he doesn’t know any of the new slang. he’s still calling terracotta “hardened clay.” he tries to fight a ghast one day and gets utterly obliterated because he tried blocking with his sword. he spent like a whole day trying to craft a enchanted golden apple until mumbo was like mate you can’t do that anymore.

after a month of not writing I knocked out nearly 4000 words in the past 3 days and now have a first draft of chapter 11 !!!

I'm honestly just incredibly proud of myself for finishing this much. never did I think I'd be writing 46,000 words of gay people from a video game but y'know I'm not mad about it...
