Oh wow this episode really was utter and complete chaos!!! I'll definitely be rewatching it before episode 2 comes out so I can pick up on all the details.
My initial thought is that this first episode is definitely meant to be the one that delivers the absolute initial shocker, like plunging into ice come water so the audience truly understands how different the atmosphere has become. Lestat is high out of his mind the entire recording so it's understandable that the narration is so fragmented and chaotic, but I think we'll get more "normal" narrations in other episodes.
I also think that the very last scene with Gabrielle is a sobering shock back to reality, the question, the CORE that has been haunting the episode all along but got lost amidst the LSD powered hedonistic manic episode :"were you a stutterer as a kid?" gets its answer in that moment in which Lestat regresses into that childhood stutter upon seeing his mother again. The frantic accelerated pace of the episode crashes with Lestat bent over vomiting into the toilet and falling once again into the trap of that horrible incestous abuse and thus the real story begins
What are y'all's thoughts?
