The huntress had not been at their current residence for the team, instead she’s been at Pyrrha’s memorial for most the time as of right now. Not that she had been in any sort of danger, plus, the Relic was safe in her care. It should be obvious was drew her here, was not just a fallen friend, but a girl that was out of her league...Ruby had already vented to the statue aloud, rather, vented to herself...So sitting in silence now, it’s only when she hears another person’s footsteps does she whip around to see whom it is. 

Much to her relief, it had only been Ben. Though there was a pang of anxiety for him coming here, for she’s not the slightest clue if he dare ask who the girl is. Even if the plate states her name, this would be a matter of telling him who Pyrrha really was. 

“Oh, hey...Did, uh...Did Yang or....Everybody else tell you to come look for me??”

A remote island not too far from Detroit is likely where reports of odd noises were emanating from. Strange roars, stomping noises, all the like.

... And the source of the problem certainly didn’t like the little... nosy intruder that they now had upon said island.

   “ Puny human intruuuuuuuuder?! Me Grimlock DE-STROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOY puny human intruder! ”

Well. At least this was interesting.

Syd curiously observes the figure of a dark-haired teenager with strange lettering upon his clothing, and wonders at the curious sight. It’s not just that that intrigues him - it’s the elegant watch that intrigues him - and not in a good way. He doesn’t doubt that it’s a dear heirloom, or something of the sort, but it’s just not entirely comprehensive to him.

It doesn’t look like an ordinary watch either. The bright neon green, the odd fluctuations... Hmm. Perhaps he’d be better off asking the boy - it looked like he was waking.

perhaps ben didn’t go looking for trouble, but it seemed to find him either way. the lady from the park, the one who’d made a threat upon his life was on her knees in an alley. and he’d just watched her change form. 

gnarled, twisted horns pushed apart her hair, and her clothes were torn and tattered. she was bruised and bloodied, holding her head with a swollen hand. ben hadn’t ever seen a creature like she’d been before. and it was just as well. it had been hellish. spined and horned, a thousand eyes and countless teeth. raptor-like claws and a thick, scaled tail.

and yet, here she was, knocking on death’s door.
