The positive thing about getting a running setback like massive overuse injuries and training burnout, is being humbled and reminded of how amazingly fast my times have been in the past, and that running is HARD and everyone getting out there being active is just doing really great and personal accomplishment is all relative. It’s been frustrating the past couple years struggling to build back up again, and I think I’ve just been really hard on myself for not being where I want to be with my running the past couple years, but I am so proud of this race and ran it smart and had FUN. Sure, it’s 13 min over my PR, and that’s okay and we should all just cut ourselves some slack and pat ourselves on the back. #whydowedothesethings? #itsarunnerthing (at Eugene, Oregon)
