So everyone who has ever worked at ski resort will understand the injury rate. At any one point in time there is a least one person injured. I am proud to admit I have my first (and hopefully last) REAL snowboarding injury. I cracked a rib (ok, so it might be broken, but cracked is nicer). I'm another week away from being able to get back into all the white stuff but that's ok because the conditions aren't the greatest because (get this!) IT'S TOO COLD TOO SNOW??? Who would've thought it. So at the moment I'm enjoying hot chocolates and trips to Banff. 

Speaking of which it is the work Christmas Party tonight....YAY! Time for some night tubing and dinner in Banff. 

It falls from the sky like glitter and floats on the ground like a cloud...

When you walk outside and the trees are falling over with the weight of snow, and the paths are just footprints in the snow, and the wind glitters as it pushes past you. That is the beauty of winter. The days where you can't see because your eyes have frozen, and you stopped feeling anything two minutes after you elf the house are just a side effect. 

For those who don't know Lake Louise is in the middle of Banff National Park, the closest real supermarket is 45 minutes away in the town of Banff. Then because everything is in the National Park, it is so much more expensive than the rest of Canada (or Alberta). Anyway once a fortnight or every three weeks, a few of us make the trip to Banff or Canmore for groceries and all the other essentials. Friday was supposed to be such a day, BUT 22cm of SNOW! So ditching the plan to go to Canmore for groceries and other essentials. I hit my first complete black run and survived my first epic POW day*. Falling into waist deep powder over and over again trying to perfect my snowboarding is one of the most exhilarating and exhausting adventures to date. 

The only problem with riding in powder is you push yourself to the the limit, because falling doesn't hurt...well not until the next day when all of your muscles are screaming at you not to move ever again! Walking to the bathroom is the greatest mission because it involves moving. But then you remember all the epic reasons you are hurting.
