I, TONYA
This was the first thing I ever saw Margot Robbie in (although I saw it a few years after it came out).
I remember when the scandal was on TV and it was the big thing everyone was talking about at that time. I still can't believe it happened, but it did, and this movie provides a unique insight into what did & did not happen in the life of Tonya Harding.
I have to say that Allison Janney (a truly gifted performer; Absolute Talent) gives one HELL of a performance.
Her performance is one of the most important portrayals on-screen I have ever witnessed of any character. Her embodiment of the shamelessness of greedy people is uncanny (and unparalleled). I truly admire how she captured the qualities of the average scumbag who will stoop to the depths of complete & utter inhumanity in order to survive.
The movie is not perfect, but the cast does an outstanding job in showcasing the hilarity & the candidness of the ugly side of competition.
I think everyone should make a long observation on Allison Janney's performance because almost EVERYONE seems to have turned into that woman in my own life. It's an astonishing display of how people can be (especially for anyone who is pursuing anything in life that other folks believe will lead to riches, fame, and fortune [a common mistake]). The sad reality is that these behaviors of selfish cruelty & greedy deceit can be found in your every day life (just go shopping anywhere and you will either run into an employee or a customer who will see you as a mealticket just because they have no true idea of WHO you are & where you're from & what you've been through in life to get to the place in life you're currently standing (or sitting..whatever).
My point is: people can be really greedy & really cruel and this movie showcases that side of life. The side of life that considers NO ONE (You KNOW...The sh!tty side of life). Also, don't ever plan an attack on someone just because you don't know how to live YOUR OWN LIFE'S PURPOSE (with your OWN GOALS outside of SOMEBODY ELSE'S life).
..Just don't be an a$$h0l3. Ok?.. watch the friggin' movie and don't be an a$$h0l3. Things will work out much better.
DO THE WORK, PEOPLE. DON'T ATTACK SOMEONE ELSE JUST BECAUSE THEY DID THE WORK WHILE YOU WERE PROBABLY F**KING OFF SOMEWHERE WASTING YOUR OWN TIME (and probably the time of others, too). I digress.
