scarlet could’ve easily been written as a “born sexy yesterday” character given her circumstances. when she starts living with chase there’s no unnecessary scene where chase is like “i’m a man y’know, you shouldn’t trust me” (cough cough down to earth cough cough) bc, they DONT trust each other, and they didn’t really have to at the time. ntm it’s made clear not just by the narrative but by chase himself that scarlet is the one with the power, literally and figuratively. there’s no emphasis on how she looks or needlessly lingering shots on her body. even the scene in the s2 finale where she’s put into that revealing dress isn’t only there for the sake of fan service but to show how under satan’s rule, the reapers have no real autonomy. it’s really refreshing to see.

I’m The Grim Reaper - Chase x GN Reader
“......Y/N.” The midnight silence is broken as Chase’s hushed voice breaks through. Chase is curled up, back facing Y/N. He rubs his hands over his arms, goosebumps never ceasing.
“Hm?” Y/N hums, nuzzling their face deeper into soft fabric.
Although Y/N can’t see it, Chase quirks an eyebrow, “Sleeping well?”
“Mhmm. Well, I guess not now since you woke me up.” Y/N shifts around, now staring at Chase’s back, covered in only a thin layer of fabric.
Letting out a huff, Chase sits up, “I wouldn’t have to wake you up if you would stop hogging the blankets.” He hisses.
Even though Chase is glaring down at his lover, they manage to smile up at him. They stretch their arms out as an invention, “We could cuddle. Then we would have no choice but to stay close and share the blankets.”
Chase stares at Y/N for a moment then sighs, “That’s your logic, huh?”
Nonetheless, Chase accepts Y/N’s offer. He holds them close, face buried in their hair, and arms wrapped tightly around each other.
Y/N happily tucks against their boyfriend’s chest. “..I think my logic is pretty good.” Y/N mutters. Their eyes getting heavier with every passing second.
“Hm.” Chase hums in response. He closes his eyes and inhales before pressing a kiss to their hair, “Go to sleep now.”
