ITEM Description: ITEM-008 is a small, 9 cm x 4 cm nightlight in the shape of a bird, most closely resembling a canary, of a deep blue coloration and, when plugged, emitting a soft light of the same color. There seems to be no other noteworthy traits to ITEM-008's physical appearance, and functions much like a regular nightlight.
When ITEM-008 is plugged into any wall outlet, and as long as the room is sufficiently dark, it will emit an according, blue light as any nightlight would, which will also activate it's anomalous effect. While ITEM-008 is active, any individual capable of sleep who rests within the room in which ITEM-008 is plugged will receive restful sleep, and be able to sleep a better amount of time than they might have otherwise, though it cannot fully repair extreme sleep schedule issues, additionally it will prevent them from suffering from any form of unpleasant experience, such as nightmares, discomfort due to temperatures, bad sleeping positions, and even create a sense of ease and calmness that prevents one from feeling things like fear that might prevent sleep or cause unrest.
Additionally to this, ITEM-008 seems able to repeal insects, mold, and certain kinds of anomalous effects and entities from affecting or otherwise approaching those sleeping within the room it is active in, and in a few, very specific circumstances, it has materialized a semi-corporeal form in order to, in some manner, make any present threats go away, though only while the subjects are asleep, and they will not be woken or disturbed by anything that occurs, let alone affected.
Addendum# 1 - Discovery: (12/06/1981) ITEM-008 was under the possession of researcher Dr. Winstinlley's wife, who began to notice how, strangely, every time she slept with that nightlight (which she has had since childhood), she never had a nightmare like she otherwise would, and even recounted a time where they were dealing with an ant infestation, and for some reason the ants never came into her bedroom during the night. After Dr. Winstinlley ran some quick, at home tests himself, he confirmed the anomalous effect of ITEM-008 and immediately sent it to Site-12
