Going to use Couch to 5K as a knee-recovery protocol
Whilst it may seem ridiculous that a member of the British Bobsleigh Team/GB Ultimate team can’t run a 5K; my plan is to use the very popular beginners running app to slowly introduce my knee back to running; a mere 3.5 years after surgery on my knee. I came up with the idea and my Osteo agrees with me, telling me I gotta keep grinding away at that scar tissue, slowly but surely.... I hope it works and I don’t end up failing because the joint is damaged and the impact causes inflammation no matter what I try and do. Worth a try!
Discomfort is okay, as long as its not enough to cause me to change the way I am moving or compensate; or too much to recover from. Having done a few experiments in the garage jogging-up as a warm, pain/discomfort seems to improve after a few minutes of light jogging on it....so here goes!
