The Prophet ( ﷺ) said:

 “The best of you are those who are the best to their wives, and I am the best of you to my wives.”

📚al-Tirmidhi, 3895;

Sufyaan ath-Thawree (Rahimahullah) was asked about the verse “…and man was created weak” (Surah Nisaa: 28) what is man’s weakness?

He replied,

“It is when a woman passes by a man and he does not restrain himself from looking at her nor does he gain any benefit from looking at her, so what is weaker than this?”

سُئِلَ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيَّ عَنْ قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى : ( وَ خُلِقَ الْإِنْسَانُ ضَعِيفًا ) مَا ضَعْفُهُ ؟ قَالَ : الْمَرْأَةُ تَمُرُّ بِالرَّجُلِ فَلَا يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عَنِ النَّظَرِ إِلَيْهَا ، وَ لَا هُوَ يَنْتَفِعُ بِهَا ، فَأَيُّ شَيْءٍ أَضْعَفُ مِنْ هَذَا ؟ .

Abu Haneefah (rahimahullah)

" When a hadeeth is found to be saheeh, then that is my madhhab "

📝Ibn `Aabideen in al-Haashiyah (1/63)

📝Shaikh Saalih al-Fulaani in Eeqaaz al-Himam (p. 62)

"When I say something contradicting the Book of Allaah the Exalted or what is narrated from the Messenger (ﷺ), then ignore my saying "

📝Al-Fulaani in Eeqaaz al-Himam (p. 50),

[This does not apply to the mujtahid, for he is not bound to their views anyway, but it applies to the person who performs taqleed]

Maalik ibn Anas (rahimahullah)

"Truly I am only a mortal: I make mistakes (sometimes) and I am correct (sometimes). Therefore, look into my opinions: all that agrees with the Book and the Sunnah, accept it; and all that does not agree with the Book and the Sunnah, ignore it"

📝Ibn `Abdul Barr in Jaami' Bayaan al-'Ilm (2/32),

Shaafi'i (rahimahullah)

 "The Muslims are unanimously agreed that if a sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah ( ﷺ ) is made clear to someone, it is not permitted for him to leave it for the saying of anyone else."

📝(Ibn al-Qayyim - A'laam ul-Muwaqqi'een vol.2, р.361)

"If you find in my writings something different to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ ), then speak on the basis of the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (ﷺ), and leave what I have said.

Ahmad ibn Hanbal (rahimahullah)

"Whoever rejects a statement of the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu `alaihi wa sallam) is on the brink of destruction "

Shaykh Abdur-Rahmaan ibn Hasan (the grandson of Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahab), rahimahullah, said: "In the words of Imaam Ahmad, rahimahullaah, is an indication that doing taqleed before the proofs reach a person is not blameworthy. Rather, the one who is to be censured is that person to whom the proofs reach, yet he opposes them due to [adhering to] the saying of his scholar. "

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah said: 

"No one has to blindly follow any particular man in all that he enjoins or forbids or recommends, apart from the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). The Muslims should always refer their questions to the Muslim scholars, following this one sometimes and that one sometimes. If the follower decides to follow the view of an imam with regard to a particular matter which he thinks is better for his religious commitment or is more correct etc, that is permissible according to the majority of Muslim scholars, and neither Abu Haneefah, Maalik, al-Shaafa’i or Ahmad said that this was forbidden." 📝Majmoo’ al-Fataawa, 23/382.

“Surely, spreading knowledge is a reason for propagation of Allah’s religion. You become a Mujaahid in the way of Allah. The Mujaahid is one who opens up lands one by one until the deen has spread.

But you are opening the hearts (of mankind) with knowledge, until the legislation (sharee’ah) of Allah spreads.” 

فضيلة الشيخ العلامة محمد بن صالح العثيمين – رحمه الله – :

( أن في نشرك للعلم نشراً لدين الله ، فتكون من المجاهدين في سبيل الله ؛ فالمجاهد في سبيل الله يفتح البلاد بلداً بلداً حتى ينشر فيها الدين ، وأنت تفتح القلوب بالعلم حتى تنشر فيها شريعة الله عز وجل )
