isabela you’re so sweet!! & you’re not a bother!! honestly, I still consider myself a noob as well. I only started posting my gameplay a month ago but if I had to give any tips, i’d say try not to compare yourself to others. I find myself doing this sometimes and it ruins the fun in everything.
secondly, create an heir that you feel attached to. if you create a random sim that you haven’t given a story/personality to, their gameplay will get boring. ella is my baby & I love opening my game and playing with her.
thirdly, take breaks. don’t force yourself to play! have fun & take pictures of things that you think look fun or interesting! not based off what other posts look like.
fourthly (is this even a word lmao), give your sims friends or enemies to spice things up! do things with your sims like taking them out to dinner or the park or the movie theater! create clubs for your sims especially kids & teens! give them hobbies! try to push yourself out of your comfort zone of how you usually play!
and lastly, don’t worry about notes!!!!! the moment I stopped caring how many notes my posts got, I stared having the most fun i’ve had in awhile :)

hello! can you show me a picture of this issue, please? the only thing i can think of is that the intensity of your depth of field settings are too high. you can easily change the intensity by going into reshade’s configuration settings, opening the settings to the effect called “quint_dof” and lowering the blurred background intensity. i’d also fool with the bokeh intensity and the near/far curves intensity, which are also available to edit in the quint_dof settings. also check to see if the gaussian blur effected is enabled, as that will add a blurring effect to the full image, not just the background. i’d also recommend only using my preset with reshade 3.0.8. i don’t use any other reshade version, so i don’t know how my preset appears on any newer or older version. that may very well contribute to the issue. i’m really not a reshade expert, so i’m uncertain if any of this is helpful, i apologize! i’ve not run into an issue like this before! if this doesn’t solve your problem, just send me a picture of the issues you’re having and i’ll try to help you to the best of my abilities. :-)
