Notorious slumlord Isaac Pollack continues to show up during 104 -110 Empire Blvd tenant meetings to intimidate and harass tenants . Interfering in tenants’ right to organize is against the law . Background #IsaacPollack (Empire Valley LLC) landlord of 104 Empire Boulevard has engaged in racist and VIOLENT practices against predominantly Haitian elders and families. 104 Empire Blvd is a 20 unit rent stabilized building in Flatbush, Brooklyn. For years, Isaac Pollack has WOEFULLY neglected his responsibilities as a landlord by not making repairs and allowing mice, cockroach and bedbug infestations to go untreated. These repairs include persistent leaks, broken windows, inconsistent heat and hot water, broken appliances, moldy bathrooms, collapsed ceilings and warped floors. Tenants have reported that Pollack and his staff, routinely hang up the phone on them when they call to complain, has flat out refused to make repairs and/or told them they must make the repairs themselves. When tenants have called 311 to report him, Pollack has then called the city and lied claiming that tenants denied him access to their apartment to make repairs. Several tenants have reported spending hundreds of dollars to fix their apartments and/or organized their family members to do the work. Isaac Pollack, who is white then “justifies” his refusal to make repairs and exterminate the building by using the most vile racist stereotypes and language towards tenants . Tenants report that Pollack routinely shows up to their doors unannounced, berating tenants who ask for repairs by saying that “Haitians are dirty” and “You people are a bunch of hogs!”.
