A random idea since it almost 3am: Vertin's arcanum fluctuates with emotions like other arcanists but it's barely noticeable except around her scar. This means it's a well kept secret.
The scar burns when angry.
It gets icy cold when sad.
When she's happy, her arcanum effects the surrounding area directly around it, almost like a vibration. This is the only one you can feel through the suit. It feels like hugging a purring cat, but the "purr" is strongest if you rest her head against her back.
Attraction makes it tickle. This is the only time she's ticklish.
Jealously is a very rare emotion for her but it'd feel like being pricked by thorns.
Anxiety makes the scar throb.
I turned her scar into a twisted mood ring someone stop me.
