Okay so I'm ✨preparing✨ for avengers doomsday and had never dipped my foot in the X-Men territory and decided it was time to change that!!!!! I am going with release order and have watched X-MEN (2000), X-2, The Last Stand, origins wolverine, and First Class. And here's my ranking till now.
1)X-Men: first class: this movie has quickly become one of my fav superhero movies cuz first of all CHERIKKKKKKKK and 2nd I liked how developed characters felt (yes we knew charles, erik, raven, hank from before but still) and also loved them developing relations too like the recruitment scene, the training scene, the beach divorce. I do have some problems with the movie too like how they handled darwin (just why introduce a character u say can adapt for anything just to kill him? If they wanted to show how powerful shaw was could've added another character instead of him just to underutilize) and the fact that charles deserves to crash out after the cuba scene, and I loved mystique's arc but I still think the decision to not wearing any clothes comes from a place of misogny from writers part about which I might make a post on.
2) X-Men 2: I liked this one more than the other 2 X-Men movies cuz the establishment of characters is already done so they get to shine more though my complaints are that nightcrawler should have been in the next movie and I feel rogue and SCOTT is underused.
3) X-Men (2000): Great introduction to characters and just not many complaints just the other 2 r better also again SCOTT SHOW ME MORE SCOTT.
4) X-Men the last stand: hmmmmmmm honestly just very unsatisfactory ending I didn't want magneto, rogue and mystique to lose their power also hated the way they killed of cyclopes like ugh atleast give my dude an onscreen death, also the whole logan jean thing is so weird throughout the trilogy like just why like ew that was definitely not love and it felt very one dimensional there's ZERO build up plus the emotional cheating on Jean's part is just no. No. Also charles' death too. The movie just left me very unsettled. It's still pretty good tho like I enjoyed while watching. Also I think using leech in the end to defeat jean would've made more sense I was expecting that and not logan power walking with pants stronger than him.
5) X-Men origins: Wolverine: I honestly liked the starting acts but did go down as the movie progressed. Gambit felt underused and the whole deal with Deadpool.... OKAY WAIT, IF that dude wasn't Deadpool I'd be interested to know more of what happened to him cuz he just wasn't Deadpool. BUT if we see him as another entity i would have been a bit more interested in what can happen with him. Overall... Idk I feel like the attention could have been on another X-Men and not on Logan like the X-Men trilogy already felt like logan's story. This movie wasn't NEEDED perse.
Now next in my watch list is the wolverine... Kinda wanna skip to watch days of the future past but I'll stick to release order.
