I wish more writers weren't obsessed with making their works unpredictable or subverting expectations. Some of that is fine alright but at some point people get sick of never knowing whats going to happen. Annoyed that all their theories are never even an ounce right because the writer thought that was too easy or predictable.

The satisfaction I get when one of my friends picks up on every clue I laid out and guesses right before the reveal? EUPHORIC. Its a problem perpetrated by media like game of thrones and Marvel and recently I've seen it die down a lot. Its still a problem though and I've definitely fallen into it before, so Its okay to let your writing be predictable. It may even be predictable to but not the reader.
